The reason we use metal for framing the trunks is because one of the many properties of metal is strong and quicker to build with, unlike wood which takes longer because it involves glueing pieces to get the weight takes more time.

Also when cladding the trucks we used 8ft by 4ft quarter inch sheets plywood without adding to add too much weight to the trucks.

Understanding set construction skills
These are some of the construction skills we have applied in the process of building the set, in Carpentry we used circular saw which are used for cutting straight lines the jigsaw which is more for detail work and curbs,and the table saw which is used for large sheets of wood cutting a straight line.
There is also so much more than sawing wood the way you want it, you can use a router for it which gives they wood a finished edge, there is a suitable to wear a blade spins around creating a curved edge.
Metalwork we will do the marking out of box section metal and using the circular saw to cut said metal,after that then we would clean off the sharp ends of the metal we would use a grinder this is so someone does not cut themselves.
