He remembered it like it was yesterday.

Jamison had gotten in a fight with a gang over something trivial. It was something so trivial, he couldn’t remember it. Probably a loan of money.

They had been fighting for several hours, Jamison not ready to give up. 

That is, until a gang member threw an object at him. Jamison caught it, staring at the messily drawn logo on it.

It was one of his own.

He doesn’t like remembering what happened next, but he sure as hell won’t forget the pain.
