I got mail and couldn't think of what it was since I've been MIA for a while. My order from @unknownzine arrived and I screamed the moment I saw his face on the sticker (to which my parents asked if I was ok). I am never okay.

This is suuuuuch a good pick me up and I am so happy omfg. Best boy has basically filled my ita bag I got for Christmas and I still want more.

Everything is SUCH high quality and gorgeous and everyone put so much effort into this project. I had to turn the sticker and note into pins for my bag too. Now excuse me while I caress the matte paper.

Applications Open!

Unknown is currently looking for Assistants to help with the zine.

His plan is to bring 20 artists, 5 writers, 5 merch artists, and 1-3 graphic designers to Magenta (excluding the Believer Mods & Guests). 

All Assistants will be rewarded with the gift of salvation; in other words, a free copy of the zine. If funds allow, free shipping and merch bundles may also be included.

Art Assistant and Merch Assistant Role & Requirements

We’re looking for artists with a good understanding of anatomy, perspective, lighting, and color theory.

Art Assistants will be tasked with creating a 1-page illustration or comic. In addition, they may collaborate with a writer and create illustration(s) for their written piece.

Merch Assistants will be tasked with creating one or more merch pieces. The specific types of merch will be confirmed later.

Submission Requirements

Please provide a Google Drive folder with links to 3-5 of your artworks.

At least one artwork should contain Saeran (any version of Saeran will work, since they all have the same general appearance.)

Submitted works should be complete with colors and at least have a simple background.

We will accept traditional artwork as long as it’s scanned at 300dpi.

All works should be no older than two years old.

Writing Assistant Role & Requirements

We’re looking for writers with a good grasp on grammar, plot, pacing, and compelling prose. Writers must be able to write Unknown.

Writing Assistants will be tasked with creating a short story that does not surpass 2,500 words.

Submission Requirements

Please include 2-3 links to samples of your writing.

At least one sample should feature Unknown as a prominent character.

The samples should not exceed 10,000 words in total.

All samples should be fully written prose. (No headcanons!)

For multi-chapter fics, we will be only reading the chapter sent to us.

All works should be no older than two years old.

Design Assistant Role & Requirements

We’re looking for graphic designers with a good understanding of typography, layout design, composition and color theory.

Design assistants will be tasked with laying out the final zine. This will include working together to create a font and color palette, along with other design elements which will appear in the zine. They may also be asked to assist with the promo graphics. Design assistants should be familiar with and have access to Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator.

Submission Requirements

Please provide a Google Drive link to 3-5 of your best designs.

At least one sample should be of a booklet layout.

All files submitted should be viewable on Google Drive. We will not download your file in order to view it.

Designs that fit Unknown’s aesthetic are encouraged, but not required.

All works should be no older than two years old.

*While google drive is most ideal for art, merch and design applications, if you do not have one, you can send 3-5 links to your best pieces. 

Please also note that all communication will take place via Discord. All chosen assistants will be required to create a free Discord account if they already do not have one. 

You may also apply for multiple positions if you’d like!

Haha! Did that scare you? I was only trying to introduce the zine. ^^ This is my zine and it’s all about ME! So, forget about all of those other inferior versions and just focus on me. I’ll be the one who leads you to Paradise after all~

I have some hacking to do, but pay careful attention to the information below. It will help you get to me!

All of us at Magenta are very pleased to announce BANG! An Unknown Fanzine. The zine is a safe for work charity zine focusing on Unknown, in other words, the version of Saeran that appears in the Casual /Deep Story and the Christmas DLC. 

Theme

Not a lot about is known about this version of Saeran. Most endings that involve him just fade to black, and he doesn’t have a “good ending” in this form. BANG! will not only celebrate Unknown’s character, but also explore what happens to him during those off-screen moments of his daily life, and what it would be like if he did find happiness as ‘Unknown’.

Platonic relationships with any character will be accepted. This also includes other versions of Saeran as long as the focus is on Unknown and his relationship with them (for example, Unknown taking over Ray, or Unknown having memories of his childhood).

Romantic ships will be limited to UnknownxMC, however, the other canon MCs will be accepted (MC1, MC2, MC3, MC4).

Light AUs will also be accepted, but your idea will have to be discussed and approved by the Believer Mods.

Charity

All proceeds will go to the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation, which strives to alleviate suffering caused by mental illness. They do so by awarding mental health research grants. We thought that this would be fitting for Unknown and his struggles. For more information please visit their website. 

Currently, we are looking for 20 artists, 5 merch artists, 5 writers, and 1-3 graphic designer contributors for the zine. All contributors will receive a free copy of the zine, and, if funds allow, shipping will be covered and they may also receive a free merch bundle.

Meet the Current Team!

It’s me again~ Hope all of my princesses have been doing well ^^ Since we will soon welcome more Believers to the team, everyone at Magenta wanted me to introduce you to our current Believer Mods. 

Believer Amps is acting as the main organizer of the project. She has contributed as a writer for Saeran Zine, MM Halloween Zine, the MM Calendar Project, and Jumin Zine. This is her first time organizing a zine, but she’s receiving help and guidance from veteran mods Byebi and Niku. You can find her here.

Believer Byebi is an artist acting as a temporary mentor and helper until the project is fully up and running. She has contributed merch for Saeran Zine and is currently modding MM Halloween Zine and Yoosung Zine.You can find her on twitter and Instagram.

What sorts of things are required of mods? Just before I get into something I can't really handle. Don't wanna drag y'all down ^^

Hello! In our application, we list out all the duties that amod may be involved in. Some of these are more specific such as handling finances,making promo art, or beta reading fics, but the more general tasks include: communicating with other mods and helping to make decisions, working with contributorsto make sure that they finish their pieces, and answering questions via emailand social media.

We also expect for mods to be able to get along and workwith others easily and in a professional manner. Communication is also veryimportant. The mods are expected to regularly check in with the projectand be easy to reach. If something does come up that will keep a mod fromperforming their duties for a period of time, it’s important that they let usknow.
