The Unko Museum in Tokyo, Odaiba: Poop, and Plenty of Laughs
My sister absolutely begged me to take her to the Unko Museum—yes, you read that right, a museum all about poop. If I’d been on my own, there’s no way I’d have dropped 2,000 yen on this, but hey, family duties call.
We were ushered in as a group and given a rather colourful introduction. Then came the highlight: sitting on a bright, cheerful toilet that magically ‘produced’ a poop—mine was green (somehow), and my sister’s was yellow. Classy.Tokyo
The museum was full of quirky exhibits—there was even a poop pit for kids where you had to shout “UNKO!” to make a poop fly out. We kept hearing kids shouting, but the real star was a man somewhere nearby who screamed “UNKO!” sounding like he was seriously constipated. Honestly, it was oddly hilarious.
You could even draw on the toilets (there were plenty on the walls), and we left a little tribute to Mocha, our family dog. Weird? Yes. Fun? Surprisingly, yes. I wasn’t exactly thrilled, but seeing my sister laugh so much made it totally worth it.
