RECENT E-MAIL TO A FRIEND
(They had said they thought there was something wrong with themself)
I don't think there's anything wrong with you. Not even vaguely. A LOT of people are becoming uncommunicative, even with those they care about; it's a symptom of current life-stresses. Everything we have to deal with of an official nature is designed to divide and cause anguish now, and a side-effect of the internal response to that is to cut oneself off, to a degree, to everything around oneself. Everything is a pain, so avoiding everything is becoming more and more common. Frankly those that aren't practising this to some degree are usually a significant part of the problem; they have no empathy and see it as a flaw.
I've noticed that not merely in my lifetime, or adulthood, but simply the last decade, that even the most BASIC avenues of communication or services have became unbearably infuriating; needlessly complicated. This isn't simply a matter of perception; they're designed to put one off. To deflect. For instance, call menus and call centres becoming increasingly difficult to use. No alternatives to single point-of-contact phone-numbers and twenty-seven sub-menus that take fifteen minutes to navigate through, etc... "Don't bother us, just throw money and shut up!" It's bad enough when it's a corporate landlord, but when it's an NHS doctors' surgery where the admin staff consider it their primary function to make sure patients never bother the doctors, then it's clear that everything is fucked up beyond all decency.
Life has been made unliveable.
my dad just said that before he starting screening his calls "life was unliveable" bc of how many telemarketers called him I'm-
My wages are 71.2% higher per hour in my new job than my old one. Makes me sick they payed so little. My new job is going to be so much better
Please help us out
So for the past year or so, my son and I have been living in absolutely abysmal living conditions with no means to leave. We dealt with it til now because we had no other choice. Then we found bed bugs, management added over $100 to my rent, asked me to pay $300 for treatment and I had to fork out another $300 replacing infested furniture and cleaning and bagging literally all of my belongings. I'm only lucky I don't have much upholstered furniture or it could've been over $1000. Now, I have a limited income. I'm a college student and single mom whose had to quit one job because it cost me more money to work than to not work, and lost another because I couldn't afford a baby-sitter or work during class times(even though I gave them my availability, they mostly ignored it because apparently I should leave my four-year-old home alone until 10 at night). I'm attempting to start my own home business, but until September when I'll have enough money (in theory) to buy products for start-up, it can't help me any. I do have a kickstarter for the project though if anyone likes all-natural candles and soaps and such.
Howevere, long story short, I'm living on financial aid (which was covering the bills) but with all of these bonus expenses, I can't afford to live here any longer, but neither can I afford to move. I have heard that social media can be a godsend in times like this, so I've made a gofundme, with the goal being enough money to pay off what I owe, move into a more affordable and bug-free place, and get us through til I get paid in September. If all of you lovely wonderful people here could help me I would be eternally grateful, not only because you've helped me, but because you've helped my baby boy live somewhere he doesn't have to be afraid to sleep.

When I consider moving out of Texas
I remember that other states don't have breakfast tacos (according to my English boyfriend, who went to college in North Carolina).
Ummm...sorry world. That's just not going to work for me.
