lightning just made me go insane thinking about s2 sam being super possessive/protective over dream and not really knowing why he gets the urge or instinct to just, control his environment, keep him utterly out of harms way, but dream does know and dream remembers and he tries so hard to forgive sam because he knows that was a past life and theyre different people now and what happened them shouldnt effect them, but he sees the way sam looks at him and he feels rage and fear and dread all at once because sam cares for him so gently in this world, only ever stern when hes worried, but dream cant help the knot in his throat when sam touches his shoulder or prepares him a meal. he tries so hard to convince himself this is not the same sam that let quackity pull his teeth out and let his wounds rot his body, but when he closes his eyes at night all he sees is the dark silhouette of a figure in a gas mask backlit by lava and his stomach begins to churn.
