Monty and Ben Incorrect Quote 81
Monty: Ben? You okay?
Father: You kept a secret about Mom. That is not okay.
I had to draw this one. About the secret about their mom, I guess everything that concerns her was kept from Ben his whole life. I bet Grandfather forbid to talk about her. But let's go with the angstiest theory about her plus my personal interpretation : she was sick during her second pregnancy (from the pollution of the factories i bet) and died in childbirth (cuz there was some complications i guess). He survived somehow so she named him "Benedict" which means "blessing" because there was a slim chance he would make it. He never knew any of this. Especially his name's origin.
For once, Father isn't angry or mad at his brother (cuz I believe he resents Monty for choosing the KND over his own brother or something like that), he is just extremely disappointed in Monty. And hurt. Monty was the last person Ben thought would consciously kept something from him, especially when it's a recommissioned Monty. In these Incorrect Quotes, it's basically an AU of mine where Monty and his wife are recommissioned and funny stuff happens.
But with a recomissioned Monty who remembers everything and doesn't really have a reason to keep a secret from his brother (cuz he wouldn't care what Grandfather thinks), it is something that could hurt Father on a deep emotional level.
I also like the idea that the silhouette suit might become unstable depending on the person and his feelings, like in this case Father is so heartbroken that his powers flicker a little.
In other words, THE QUEEN OF ANGST STRIKED AGAIN
