Man, there's a couple old pieces on here that I want to entirely rework. I think I've done a 180 on my feelings on Meilan. I have a whole separate meta-take on the kind of chivalry that's being presented by the hawks at OZ (it's not any of the euro-centric versions of chivalry I figured it'd be, it's *pure* Bushido, because of course it is, that's the commentary that would be relevant for the show's original audience, as is the entire exploration of the challenges and role of pacifism-- another forehead-slap-duh for me). The whole AI issue has evolved exponentially since I wrote the ZERO post. I still have some 90% finished Heavy Topic articles I've been sitting on for a solid year because it's just felt a little inappropriate to discuss them during the, you know, *gestures at the abundance of real-life fascism*. Whoof.
