I typed it out— Short, casual, Something safe. “Hey, how’ve you been?” And stared at the blinking cursor Like it might blink back.
Sent. Delivered. But never blue. Never opened. Never answered.
It’s not the silence That hurts the most, It’s the space Where your reply should’ve lived— Laughter, emojis, A long-winded story Only I’d understand.
I scroll up, Reading conversations That once danced with ease— Now they ache. Now they mock.
Unread, Like I never mattered. Or maybe you do read them— And just don’t want to reply. Some ghosts Choose to stay quiet.
