Hey do not buy from Bobicraft or Bobi Craft if you ever see their product. The company is based in Vietnam and I was recently hired as their crochet designer. They are specialized in crochet dolls and stuff animals.
And they are trying to lower my negotiated pay from 44k VND/hr (less than 2USD) to 22k VND/hr (less than 1 USD). And the reason for lowering my pay is that they are providing me with yarn to work with. Mind you, they dont provide anything else not even a needle or scissors.
They made me go thru a training period without pay, for gas to get there (1hr drive from my place) nor for lunch. The training was wacked since they told me I did wrong without actually telling me where or how it was wrong and let me figure things out by myself.
While their workers work in such miserable condition while probably getting even lower pay than I do (narrow staircase that can only fit 1 person at a time, asian restaurant plastic chairs to sit on for 9hours plus of work every day for 6 days a week, no microwave to warm food, no air purifier etc)
Their management dont even know how to crochet. And when I ask what kind of stitch they want to make the product look a specific way to their standards, none of the higher people can aswer.
I have been with them for 1 and a half week and still no contract. And they have a history of withholding payment from independent workers and also underpaying them compare to other similar companies in Vietnam.
And also if i made a pattern and they get to own it, how much should I charge them?
