SCALDING HOT THEREALESTWIZARD TAKE:
We should just completely abandon the idea of "personal pronouns". Like what the hell is the point? So much trouble for everyone to just have a small toolkit of vaguely customizable nicknames? The Quakers were on to something with using 'thee/thon' for everything and eschewing 'you/we/he/her/they' in totality. At least, I'm pretty sure some sect of them did something similar at one point. I am NOT the authority on random tidbits and whimsical facts! Regardless, I'd like to adopt a similar outlook to these protestant offshoot weirdos. Not only in their incredibly based opinions surrounding the 'living light' and the concept of all of us being a piece of an infinite God that lives within our souls and is accessed by self-reflection. Jesus, they really just had the secret formula to joy, huh? Moving on, abolishing pronouns seems problematic, right? Unprogressive, transphobic, not PC, tolerant of bigots, just plain unpractical. All of these reasons may pop into your head in one way or another. (Or maybe none at all, I don't control your brain's thoughts. (I AM NOT THE FUCKING THOUGHT POLICE OKAY, 1984 LOVERS??) Anyways-- these are all non-issues. Why?? Because it is MY WORLD and you are all just LIVING IN IT. Have a problem with having to use thee and thon for every personal pronoun? Get confusing fast? Don't know how to categorize and gender people? Lost on the logistics of writing scientific journalism in a post-pronoun world? Never fear! Progress is here! If we simply eliminate the societal concept of gender and personhood, this won't matter anymore! Wouldn't you love to simply become one with the natural universe and succumb to the ecstasy of a godless society? Anarchy can only sail us so far across the shining sea...eventually we must all cave to the whispers of the stars...and thee stars, thon have no personages! (see what i did there?)
