Over the past few days I've been doing a bit of tweaking of some of the simple elements in this page but I'm already running into issues with the unsemantic grids moving, and that's just on the desktop version! So far I've ignored the mobile perspective while I got the basics into the css but now I need to get stuck into it because it certainly isn't looking how I planned. I also need a little bit of help working where/how to style in unsemantic's responsive css sheet. I've also been exploring Google and @fontface fonts because the typefaces I used in my mockups are not able to be embedded.
Started the prototyping using Unsemantic. Its great because I already have my index page set up and I'm about to go create the other page grids and get my headers/footers all set in so I can just focus on the functionality after today.
The code is a bit funny to style and I have a feeling I have along road ahead since not all of it makes sense to me just yet, but I'm picking it up and once I have a basic outline I can get into into the nitty gritty styling. So far I feel pretty good though about the opportunity to incorporate JavaScript and jQuery with all of this, but since there isn't a huge amount of Java/J features that I incorporated in my original designs, there's a good chance I can leave those to the end (like my condensed nav and the drag and drop favourites feature).
I also have to work out how to incorporate a heart icon, which might require me to see what free icons libraries I can use.
