Like, the actors shouldn’t have to explain it in interviews after.

They shouldn’t have to describe their characters motivations after the fact or express surprise about something a character did (Translation: My character wouldn’t do this, I’ve played him for years and I know him, but these bitches are paying me so I am “surprised” he would do such a thing).

The fans shouldn’t have to jump through head-canon hoops to make it okay.

Those are generally considered signs you have not done your job when your employees are having to make excuses and your customers are trying to justify why they shouldn’t complain.
