Preferences: At the lodge (Feb. 2014)
Chris:
“Chewy? Chewy!” I heard my boyfriend call me all over the lodge and he had clearly already 2 or 3 drinks…or 6. “There you are” He slurred and tried to fix his glasses. Beth sat next to me, we were talking all evening about random stuff. Especially the new guy she liked so much in school “Here I am. What do you want?” I asked and smiled up at him. “I want my beautiful girlfriend to take a drink with her best friend and me, her super hot and funny boyfriend” Beth giggled at that and I shook my head. “Alright. I’m coming. You too, Beth?” “No thanks. I like to stay sober tonight. But have fun” I nodded at her and followed Chris into the kitchen, where Josh was already waiting with 3 full shot glasses. “There is my favorite girl” he also slurred and gave me the glass. It smelled like cheap whiskey. “Alright, then. Here’s to a weekend we will never forget!” Josh cheered and we clinked our glasses, before I gulped down the burning liquid.
“Julie! Wake up!” I felt someone shaking my shoulder. Good thing I didn’t drink that much that night but enough to get sleepy. “What?” I asked confused and woke up, seeing a slightly panicking Sam. “Listen. Hannah and Beth are gone” “W-Wait! What?” “The other’s plaid a prank on Hannah, she ran away and Beth right after her. That was an hour ago. We were able to inform the police, but they won’t get her until dawn” Those…jerks. What did they do to manage Hannah running away? “Oh my…it’s freezing outside! I hope they’re okay” Sam just nodded and sat down next to me. “I wanted to find Hannah…I knew what they were planning” “Sam, they will be alright. I’m sure of that” I hugged her tightly, not knowing of how wrong I was.
Jess:
“Do you really think that this is necessary?” I asked my girlfriend, Jess, when she put down the sheet on the counter of the kitchen. “Yeah, Hannah’s flirting with Mike and that has to stop. She needs to be taught a lesson!” She answered, grabbed my hand and led me to the guest cabin, where everyone was already waiting. It wasn’t okay from Hannah to flirt with Mike, he’s taken after all, but that as a lesson? “Jess, I don’t know. Isn’t this a bit much?” “Oh come on. It’s just a little joke. No harm!” I shook my head. “Really? Because it sounds like a stupid prank that will hurt her” Jess rolled her eyes. “If you don’t want to do it, fine! But don’t drag us all down!” She said and let out her bitchy side. “Right, fine!” I said and turned around, leaving them their stupid fun.
The lodge was full of cops and the sibling’s parents were on the way up here. “God Sam…this…I didn’t stop them. I could have stopped them!” I cried while I hid my face in my palms. “No couldn’t. They all were so into this. They would have done it anyway. It’s not your fault” She tried to calm me down. Hannah and Beth were gone for over 24 hours now and the police had asked us like a thousand questions. We were all exhausted, especially Josh. He had locked himself in in Hannah’s room for several hours now. “You think…we should check on Josh? No one is brave enough to look after him and Chris has the century’s hangover” “Yeah, maybe we should” She agreed to my idea and together we went upstairs to look after him.
Mike:
“Come on Lily, aren’t you annoyed of Hannah making moves on Mike, your boyfriend?” Jess said when she put down the sheet. “Of course I am, but come on” I wasn’t sure of what to do. Yeah, I wanted Hannah to stop flirting with my boyfriend, and talking to her didn’t help, we already tried that, and this would definitely make her stop flirting, but it also was really cruel. Sam is right, but I was so done with Hannah, and the whole party weekend was just a pretense to spend some time with Mike. I didn’t even get an official invitation. “Come on Lil, we could finally get some peace and have one thing less to worry about” Mike put his arms around my hips and kissed me gently. Damn him and his kisses! “Yeah. Maybe you’re right” “Hmh” he made and kissed me again. “Urgh, guys! PG!” I started laughing and followed the rest to the guest room.
“What did we do? What did we do?” I repeated over and over again. Hannah and Beth ran of like half an hour ago and didn’t came back yet. “Lily, they’ll be fine” I heard Mike’s calm voice from the couch. “How do you know? It’s freezing and they’re bears and wolves outside! They could be dead by now!” I nearly yelled. I really panicked. It was our fault they ran off...if something had happened to them…how should we live with that? “Princess, stop panicking and sit down with me” Mike grabbed gently my hand and pulled me down next to him. His warmth and smell actually calmed me down a little. “Everything is going to be fine. Try to relax a little” He whispered in my ear and hugged me tightly. “I hope you’re right” I barely whispered into his shirt and tried to think of something else.
Emily:
(Because of obvious reasons, Mike is with Jess in this one)
“This is going to be awesome. The prank of the year” I said excited on the way to the guest room. “Yeah, the time I spent with Chris had to be good for something” Jess grinned and I was sure I heard a small ‘Hey’ from Ashley. “I can’t believe we’re actually doing this” Em grinned at me and I winked. “Of course. This will be so much fun. Come on let’s hide” Emily and I crawled under the bed, while everyone else hid inside the wardrobes and Mike just kept standing in the middle of the room. I felt Em putting her hand over mine and she squeezed it when Jess told us that Hannah was there.
I was crawled into a ball on the couch some hours later. Em sat right next to me and held my hand. I felt horrible. How could I’ve thought that this was a good idea? It was humiliating for Hannah. The look on her face when she noticed us. It was horrible. She was wrecked…heartbroken. “This was so stupid! How…Why did we do this?” I asked over and over again but never got an answer. Everyone felt horrible, even Jess seemed to regret the prank a little. “Maybe they’re just in the guest cabin. I mean, Hannah could possibly want to be alone with Beth right now… Right?” I asked and tried to calm myself down with telling myself that they’re alright. “Yeah…maybe they are” Em said and tried to look me in the eyes, but I tried to avoid any kind of eye contact because I felt so bad.
Matt:
“Are you sure about the filming thing?” I asked Matt on the way to the guest room. “Yeah, I mean, this is an awesome prank and is worth to be filmed” He smirked and put his phone into the selfie stick, so he could film from a better angle. I never was much into pranks and that stuff, why that night? I had no idea. Maybe I wanted to impress Matt with my spontaneous and funny side. So I agreed to come with them. “Just, don’t put in on the internet or something, okay?” Matt bent down and gave me a soft kiss on the forehead. “Never. This is just a little thing for our group. Are you alright?” Everyone was already inside the bedroom. “Yeah, yeah. Come on” We went inside and hid in the wardrobe at the back of the room. He held the selfie-stick in the right position and his free arm was around my hips, pulling me closer to his body.
“Hannah!” I shouted into the woods when she ran off. “Oh god, Matt. What did we do?” I asked desperately. “Where is my sister going?” Beth came to us and looked into the woods, try to see something. “It’s fine, she just can’t take a joke” Jess told her and Beth was more confused than before. “It was just a prank, Han!” Emily shouted but I was sure she wasn’t able to hear it anymore. “You…jerks!” Beth yelled at us and ran after her sister. “Beth...Wait!” I wanted to stop her but Matt held me back. “Don’t…I think they want to be alone. And it’s dangerous” He said and after some time we went back into the lodge, waiting for the sisters to come back. Not knowing that we would wait a while.
Sam:
“So, you’re in or you’re out, Rox!” Jess crossed her arms in front of her chest, looking at me with this provocative look. Sam just introduced me to the group and I didn’t want to mess with anyone right away and tried to be nice and friendly to everyone…but this Jess was a real bitch and I didn’t like her at all. “I’m so not in. Sam?” My girlfriend glared at the group. “Come on, Roxy” She then simply said, grabbed my hand and led me somewhere upstairs. “We should find Hannah and warn her. HANNAH!” she shouted and looked inside her room. But it was empty. “Hannah! Where are you?” I tried to help but I wasn’t sure if we were getting anywhere like this. I didn’t know Hannah for long, but even I was able to see how crazy she was over Mike. And yeah, I got it. He was handsome, charming, smart and all that stuff. But she was mad-madly in love with this guy. And I didn’t think that it was healthy for her.
“I-I can’t believe all of this” Sam was close to a breakdown. It was around noon already, and the house was overrun by cops and rangers. They were searching the mountain up and down, but they didn’t find anything. No sign of them. “I’m so sorry, Sam. But they know this mountain. They could be hiding somewhere” I reached out and held Sam’s hand. I never saw her like this before. She was heartbroken. Her best friend was gone because of a stupid prank. “Y-Yeah…Maybe. Thanks, Roxy” “For what?” She shrugged her shoulders. “Being here” That she thanked me for that hurt my heart a little and I hugged her as tightly as I could.
Josh:
“Hey, there you are. I was looking for you” I turned around and realized that my boyfriend was standing behind me, with a happy smile on his face. “Hey Süßer, what is it?” He wrapped his arms around my waist and smiled his cocky smile. “I was missing my hot girlfriend, who promised to spend some more time with me here” I rolled my eyes. It was my last High School year and Josh was a college student, we haven’t been a lot together in the last half year. “I know, I’m sorry. I just needed some minutes to breathe” I told him and pecked his lips. “Hm, alright. Are you coming down with me again?” He asked and gently stroke my cheek. “Just if you carry me!” He laughed and squatted down. “Come on” I jumped on his back and he carried me down the stairs.
“Beth, look at them. Sleeping like two drunk babies” I smiled at my boyfriend and his best friend, while they were snoring on the counter. “Jeez, Josh. Once again brother, you outdone us all” Beth chuckled and playfully slapped his shoulder. “They will have the worst hangover in the morning” I grinned and gently caressed Josh’ head. “Oh my, look at this. What did Hannah got herself into now?” Beth showed me the sheet where Mike invited her to the guest room with him. “Oh no…” “Did you see that?” Beth said, panic in her voice. “What?” “Someone was out there. I saw someone….Josh! JOSH!” She tried to wake him, but he was out like a light, so I ran outside, trying to find the others, but they were already running outside. Beth followed me. “HANNAH!” I heard Sam’s voice shouting. “Where is my sister going?” Beth asked. “It’s fine, she just can’t take a joke” Jess said in her usual bitchy tone. “You JERKS!” Beth yelled and ran after Hannah. “BETH!” I wanted to go after her, but Sam and Mike held me back. I was pissed at Beth for running after Hannah, I was pissed at Hannah for running away and I was pissed the group for making her run away. “Let me guess….I’m the one who tells Josh?” I said aggressively before I went back into the lodge, not wanting to any of them until the morning.
Ashley:
“Come on, Come on, Come on” Ashley beamed with glee when we decided to do this prank. “Alright I’m coming, I’m coming” I laughed and tried to keep steady. Chris and Josh had talked me into a drinking contest and I … cheated. But I still was pretty drunk. “Come on you drunk. Why do you always have to compete with the boys” “It’s fun, you and the other girls are no competition!” I chuckled and gave her and apologizing kiss on the cheeks right afterwards. She rolled her eyes and helped me to walk steady to the guest room, but before I could go there, I started to feel weird. “Ash, I think I feel sick” “That surprises you? After that much you dr….Oh” I ran to the bathroom as fast as I could. Ash wanted to come after me, but the others convinced her to leave me alone.
“Ash, please calm down. It’s not your fault” I tried to comfort her, she was rocking herself back and forth for an hour now. “That’s so easy to say…you weren’t a part of that stupid prank! You have nothing to feel guilty of!” “Of course I do. I just wasn’t a part of it, because I drank too much. If I wasn’t sick, I would have done it, Ash. And the police is still looking for them” “Y-Yeah. You think that they’re alright?” She asked, wiping her tears away. “I mean they could be, there’s always a chance that they’re hiding somewhere. And now come on, our parents are here to drive us home” I gave her my hand and led her outside.
