Do we think Tregear could've been saved if he was allowed to go to Earth as Taro's sidekick/support?

I’m of the strange opinion that he would have been unstable regardless. I think his tunnel vision focus on Taro would not have made him a good fit for the IGDF and Taro might have realized this wasn’t a good idea long before Tregear did. He’s oblivious but I don’t think he’s stupid and he knows what it takes to protect earth. I think a rift would have formed between them regardless because Tregear’s attachment was not healthy. He basically went into the Science and Technology Bureau because Taro told him to. He didn’t have very many wants of his own aside from wanting to be by Taro’s side which ultimately led to his fall to darkness once Taro wasn’t around to save him.

Followup from a DM, but Tregear making illusions of himself... that all peck Taro on the cheek whenever he gets too close to them. Both as a psychological tactic and a form of getting some much needed catharsis for himself.

👀👀👀👀 they like to annoy him while also getting touchy as the real Tregear lies in wait microdosing on catharsis.
