Warning Firefox's latest update takes away unverified extensions like Xkit.

Thanks for the heads-up!
One of the greatest thing with Firefox is that it’s eminently configurable, even this behavior.
It seems that this blocking behavior can be sidestepped by changing the value of xpinstall.signatures.required from “True” to “False”.

PS: If Xkit is still working right now (that is, you haven’t upgraded Firefox yet), you can try to ‘pre-empt’ this behavior by going to about:config and search for the above value. If not found, right-click on an empty space on the page, and choose New > Boolean. The name must be exactly the same as the above, and set the value to False. Usually upgrades won’t touch user-set values. I’ll try this out in a moment.
PPS: Yup, it seems to work. XKit still works properly on my just-updated Firefox.
