The way he made me feel

I went to a local supermarket to buy some stuff for my elderly mother who was stuck at home with a serious injury. It took me some time to find the items on her list. At one point I started to notice a guy who was looking at me. And there he was again, and again. He showed up wherever I was, but he did not buy anything, he did not even look at any of the products. He did not have a shopping trolley or carry at least one single item on him. I began to feel alarmed and uncomfortable, so I tried to see if he was really following me around the isles. He was. I tried to avoid him. I walked away if I saw him, even if I needed something from that isle. My thoughts were focusing on him, his behaviour and how I could get away without him following me outside the supermarket. It was a hot day, but I was wearing wide, baggy clothes, a gray shirt and some trousers. I was minding my own business, worried about my mother, working off the shopping list she had given me.

Why did that man make me feel so uncomfortable that I changed my behaviour? Why did he scare me into leaving the supermarket in a hurry hoping he would not see me? Why would he follow me when I did not even once look at him? Why did he make me feel unsafe in a very public space in the middle of the day? Why did he invade my space and my mind? What did he think I went to the supermarket for? Was he hoping for some kind of p*rn scenario to unfold? If you are a man, please do not make a woman feel this way.

I see your profile and I adore you!" - complete strangers Since setting up my blog and public Instagram account for my book reviews, I have received countless private messages from men whom I do not know, professing a desire to know my age, marital status and whether I would be DTF. I had originally thought that all of these people were simply bots, and were simply set up to troll the internet, and my sites had simply gotten in the way. However, now I am not as sure that this is the case for everyone of them. I received an email through the address created specifically for my review site - for this blog - that told me that this person was a successful business person, and he was not successful in his personal life and would like to get to know me better. I do not usually respond to these sorts of messages, as they do not pertain to the topic of the blog. However, this day, I was particularly full of piss and vinegar, and decided to reply. I told him I was sorry about his lack of success in his personal life, and that I reviewed books. And that that was what my profile told him. He replied that he knew this, but would like to know me better than that. I told him there was not much else to know, and who was he? So he suddenly became a single, tragic Roman banker, who travels the world for business and is currently settled in New York and was looking for someone to talk to. If you know me, you know that I absolutely hate small talk, and have no interest in carrying on ridiculous conversations with people that I am not even convinced exist. So, I did what I always do when I feel cornered by this type of person - I play the Married Card.
