Major Plate

Okay so we had our second major plate in arch2. The first one, I did okay but my grades are not as high as my other classmates 😧😭 But the second which we did just this morning is a disaster. I didn't finishing rendering it, it looks so simple and yet I didn't get to finish it. I think I'm making myself notorious to teachers. I think they are starting to see me as the girl who is always late and very slow in making plates. I can see the failing grade now. I don't want the teachers or my classmates and specially myself to think that I can't handle this, because I love this course! I love it even though I don't get any sleep, I love it even though I have to sit 4 hrs in one subject, I love it even though we are imprisoned in our college bldg. I just . . . don't know anywhere else to rant so . . . yeah, thanks tumblr. I want to cry because I've been passing unfinished plates so many times now, but my tears just won't come out.

i'm sorry i keep asking you college stuff, but i'm just wondering, can you take arki subjects in the summer?

Oh, please don’t be sorry! Hahaha. It’s more than fine.

Gah, idk why the notifications (that red number for messages) don’t pop on my tumblr, grrr. Unfortunately, you can’t. All arki subjects are seasonal. So if you fail one/get inc in one, you’re automatically delayed. And you can’t advance subjects either. :(

also, would transferring from another campus to upd arki be hard? i'm so scared omg :(

Compared to the stories I’ve heard from those who had to transfer from UST, or FEU etc, I don’t think it’ll be that hard. They only experienced a relatively hassle process because their units weren’t credited. But since you’re already from a UP unit, I think most, if not all (sometimes they don’t credit maths and sciences, but very rarely), your units will be credited. :)

It’s a lot of papers and long lines and walking. Like most UP-related processes. And first sem registration is going to be really tough. I had a friend who transferred from Baguio to Diliman but wasn’t issued a crs account on time for pre-enlistment, so she had to pre-rog starting from 0 units.

It’ll be hard because you’ll be battling with a lot of other people, especially the ones already in Diliman, with grades close to yours. It’s all about the ranking.

But!

It’s a leap of faith and you have nothing to lose. I honestly didn’t think I’d make the cut at all. But miraculously, I did. So you can too! Don’t be scared. If it’s something you really want to pursue, go go go for it! Just take a deep breath, gather your forms and submit them. Then exhale. Sure, it’ll be kind of a hassle. But if you’re really for arki, stressing and long lines and campus hopping and paper stacks, whatnot, they’ll be nothing to you in the long run. You’ll be where you need to be, and you’ll realize that the struggle to achieve that spot was more than worth it.

Don’t fear anything. I promise you, there’s no harm in trying. :)

what are the requirements for transferring from another course/campus to upd arki? i passed the upcat but i'm spending one year in los banos and i really want arki in diliman wah wah

It depends for every college and course! Mostly though, all you really need are good grades. For Arki, it was the only basis for ranking. You don’t even need to take a Talent/Drawing Test or whatever. Just grades. So as long as you meet the minimum requirement, just go for it! Usually it’s around 2.00/2.25, I think. The rest are all papers that you need your college to sign. Here’s the link for the requirements and application form! http://upca.upd.edu.ph/undergraduate-program.html

Usually the landfill of paper requirements come after they tell you that you get accepted into the college. Which is around May. So before then, all you really need is the application form and a copy of your grades. I think that applies to shiftees from diliman, transferees from other UP units and transferees from other universities. :)

Long overdue pics. Nakasave kasi siya sa flashdrive kong nawawala since end of august tas kanina ko lang siya nakita. These are the first pics I took with blockmates/sa UP/sa arki. Thiese pics were taken during Arkiweek. Twas a thursday. Majors day. HS uniform day (during arkiweek). The day before hiyas. We stayed sa drafting bldg til ? to finish THE DRESS.
