Writing Update (13 July 2022)

Hi, guys! This is the first formal writing update post I made. This one will talk more about the recent little update I did yesterday and just my writing process these past few days.

First thing first, I just want to make it a bit clearer here that I don't plan to do full cast ROs reactions too much until I have experience in writing all of them in the story 😅 The ones that I'm more comfortable with are Ash and maybe Rin. There are some instances that I did answer full cast ROs reactions, but now, I don't think I'll have much time to answer reactions and asks whose answers will be long because I'll be more focused on writing Chapter 2 now. I hope you guys don't mind🙏

Second thing, yesterday, based on the feedback and opinion from the Forum, I implemented a toggle system in the stats screen for the readers to be able to toggle whether their MC's will use a patronymic name or not (and it's already live right now!). For now, it's mostly for aesthetic and adding immersion purposes. I've also added Viktor's and Luka's patronymic names in their character guide descriptions, as well.

For those who may not be familiar with Russian naming conventions, a patronymic name is basically the middle name of a person that is derived from their father's first name. In the case of MC, it'll be 'Viktorovich' for male and nb MCs and 'Viktorovna' for female MCs.

At first, I didn't put it in because I think it'll be weird for readers whose MCs don't use Slavic names. After asking for suggestion and feedback regarding this in the Forum, the majority says they don't mind or would love the patronymic name but to also make it toggle-able to accommodate the other readers as well.

Last thing, right now, Chapter 2 is around 4k words, and it's still at the very beginning of the chapter (It's nearing the length of the Prologue now). I can't stop writing out variations and flavour texts based on MC's stats (Please help 😭). I can already see that this chapter will be longer than Chapter 1 and hopefully the writing process will go smoothly🤞

Now, readers who play Female MCs will be given choice to insert their own feminine form of custom surnames! 🎉

Hi guys, I know that hours ago, I updated the game with a minor update to fix the pre-set surname “Kozlov” so female MCs will also automatically get “Kozlova” instead while the MC’s dad will still have the masculine form, “Kozlov”.

Now, I’ve fiddled with the code a bit more and let readers who play female MCs to be able to insert their own feminine version of custom surname! How it will work is that first, you’ll be asked to insert your dad’s surname, and you’ll insert the masculine version of the surname. If you play female MC, you’ll be asked further to confirm whether you use the same version of surname as your dad, or whether you use the feminine version of the surname. If you pick that you use the feminine version, it’ll enable you to insert your own feminine version.

For example, you want to use the surname “Volkova” for your female MC, you’ll first insert the surname “Volkov” for your dad, and then when you choose that you use the feminine version, you’ll be brought to the screen to insert the femine version, “Volkova”.

I hope this will further increase immersion for readers who wish to use Slavic surnames while still keeping the naming conventions! 😄❤️

Minor Update (10 July 2022)

Hi guys, this is only a minor update mostly to fix the grammatical problems, typos, and some little flavour texts errors. I’ve ran both Prologue and Chapter 1 through grammar-checking program, and hopefully, most if not all of them have been fixed. 😅

Also, I'm going to start focusing on writing Chapter 2 in earnest, so I may not be able to answer as many asks as previously anymore. But I'll still try to answer some every day, in-between my day tasks and activities (I mostly write at night because that's when the creative juice starts flowing and I'm a night-owl 😆).

Here's the update log for those that are interested in the details of what have been changed in this update.

Update Log:

Fix most of the grammatical errors in Prologue and Chapter 1.

Fix the pre-set last name “Kozlov” so female MCs will now automatically get “Kozlova” instead of “Kozlov” in accordance to the Russian naming conventions.

Fix the flavour text where female and non-binary MCs are called “fanboys” by Ronald.

Remove the options to increase Gravikinesis and Umbrakinesis during Ms. Brooke’s compliment scene. This will hopefully remove the dilemma on whether to increase more of MC’s powers or skills.

So, it's been a while since I was last active on the internet… my bad ^^;

It's nothing to worry about, though -- we were just visiting the family at the Philippines and I was sharing my dad's work laptop with him. I also wanted to focus more on socialising rather than just spending time on my phone, haha.

Anyways, I've been home for a couple weeks now and I'm also officially a uni graduate (which is pretty exciting!). That means I've got so much time on my hands now to draw, work on my projects, and also go job-hunting.
