WIP Wednesday
…except it’s Thursday.
From Chapter Two:
The pages of the leather notebook are rasping as they settle from the assault of the breeze. Taunting her.
The room suddenly feels so much more confining, as if she’s already been entombed in it. It might as well be her final resting place.
Violet takes a shaky breath in. Her hands have a white-knuckled grip on the comforter and the wounds on her arm leave tiny specks of red on the fabric as her veins weep. The pain in her thigh is throbbing again.
It’s so hard to pick out one sensation to focus on, and all of the present ones are awful.
She digs in the deep pocket of the dress and produces the pills without even thinking, shaking a couple tablets directly in her mouth. Warm relief at least spreads through her limbs, and she crawls pathetically to the head of the bed. Her teeth chatter – from the cold or shock, she doesn’t know – and Violet desperately pulls the comforter up and over her limp body.
Sleep claims her almost instantly, but as usual, it’s far from a reprieve.

So there's been this person on TikTok doing an ongoing series of skits about an abusive YouTube family. Known to most as "the sandwich family". Have you heard of it or seen it before? Id love to know your opinion seeing as the family of your comic is in similar waters
I don’t think I have, since I’m not super active on TikTok. I actually don’t seek out similar content because I don’t want to support influencers who bring their kids into the mix at all (I really do hate family based influencers lol)
I’ve seen enough just from being on the internet tho, kids eating food they don’t want to because it’s “funny”, a step dad in court for taking YouTube pranks on his wife’s kids too far, that mom berating her kid to cry “more” for the camera, etc. enough for some inspiration, anyway
Current situation: surreptitiously writing fluff/smut on my phone at work because I'm pissed off about having to be here in the first place.
Update to Don't Let Me Go coming this weekend!
Possibly a preview of Ad Meliora as well 🖤
The logistics of getting a character to/moved around a hospital you’ve never physically been in are hard, yo.
(also: the story of how the author totally blew half of her day’s worth of productivity by obsessing over minute details, an autobiography)
That feeling where you're trying to write an update and you get attacked by plot bunnies.
And then really want them to release the songs for FLF so you can stop refreshing things obsessively.
