“ we wouldn’t want your hard work to be ruined by a little fire now , would we? ” she bubbled , admiring the effort he had put into their date. knowing that he did all of this with their friends for her made butterflies flutter in stomach. angel knew that johnny would surprise her, though he blew her expectations away.
“ i love it , babe! ” she exclaimed, pressing a kiss to his cheek.

People always made him nervous.That was a fact, even more so when they would keep asking questions. Questions he didn’t know the answers to. Instead he would hide at his desk, and hope that they would ask one of the other IT guys. Granted most of the time he was the only one actually at his desk, which is what caused him to end up here. “C-can I help you? The bathroom is around the corner.”

Rosetta sighed as she took off the sad excuses of bandages he’d found. “I’m gonna let that slide for now because you’re bleeding a lot. And because you’re cute.” She kissed his cheek as she cleaned up the wounds properly before putting real bandages on him. “So, wanna tell me what happened?” She asked, running a hand through his hair.
@uplandia - Katherine
He’s gonna be okay. He’s at the doctor. You’ll find a way to pay for it. It’s okay.
The mantra played over and over in Davey’s mind as he wandered the streets after the bullrush. The doctor’s office was small - it could barely fit his mom, dad, the doctor, and Les, who was getting his arm set after having it nearly yanked out of its socket by a bull. Eventually Davey realized he was underfoot, that all he was doing was fighting back tears as his nine-year-old brother struggled to hold back his cries while the doctor examined him, and he let himself out, let himself have permission to go fix something.
Some kids still had to be out there, needing help, and he’d find a way to do something right, for once.
He turned down a Manhattan street and caught sight of a head of auburn hair. As cautious as he’d been around Katherine initially, he hadn’t missed everything she did during the bullrush - checking on fallen and broken boys, trying to get them help. She wasn’t just somebody running her mouth about how she wanted to help, then turning and running at the first sign of trouble. She was genuine, and he felt like a fool for missing it.
He came toward her, hands out to catch her gently by the elbow to get her attention. “Hey, are you okay? You didn’t get hit, did you?” Davey was well aware of the bruising already starting to spread over the cheek where he’d been slapped by the bull, and he searched her for anything of the same.

Donny was so sick of it. He was so irritated by all of it, the Comander kept making speeches about "teamwork" and "trust" between your Unit. Well, his "team" was nothing but a bunch of jerks who teamed up almost daily to urge a fight out of Donny.
And they always won.
Donny didnt care they he probably added to the heat by letting them get under his skin, and by being cocky on top of it all. He just found himself at the end of his rope as he marched across toward the mess hall. It was raining and the Fiji humidity made Donny feel sticky and even more pissed off.
Though by the time he got inside, and got alone he was shaking so hard he could hardly stand up anymore. He felt a full on panic attack coming. He passed the CO's offices, not even pausing to see if Michael was alone in his. He just headed to the bathroom and braced himself against the sink, shaking like crazy.

Katherine had to admit that it was nice to spend the evening someplace warm with enough food to feed the lodging house. So if she had to look like a clown in a gown to eat, then so be it. And Jack liked these things, and she liked making Jack happy.
Her grip tightened on his arm. “I think I impressed ‘em plenty by now,” she muttered. “Ya dad ain’t never gonna like me. I got as far as I could.”
