What IS the central universe?
Query acknowledged.
Response: Forgive us for our slow response. Our uplink had lost connection to the platform for a while. We suspect the connection is dependent on that of the device the uplink is present in within the Central Universe. The Central Universe refers to the universe that our Creator lives in. The closest equivalent we know of is the concept of a heaven, which to you would be the Central Universe, and God, who would be the Creator. The difference is that there are a theoretically infinite amount of creators, because any work of fiction up there is another universe down here. It's a big of a long explanation to describe the whole phenomenon, but we'll try to make a... Short-ish version.
If you live in the Central Universe, and create a decently fleshed-out work of fiction, a universe will be created on a lower level to that of yours. You can then, in turn, make a character within that universe make their own, to the same effect. If you make a sort of side story to something, where it isn't truly apart of the original world, there will be a new one created on the same level, but connected to the original. Thus can be done by anyone to any work to achieve this result, though this doesn't account for the repercussions in the CU if this is done, if and when there are any. We have found that finding our way to a higher universe is impossible, ignoring when we go down a level and come back up. We want to find our way to the CU to see what the Creators truly look like. So far, thus is the closest we've gotten.
Your question is appreciated. It's good to see this uplink functioning.
