Saturday-
I should be asleep, or at least attempting to nap, as I need to do homework this afternoon and I work tonight. But here I am, awake because I fell asleep on the couch last night doing homework on the couch. Go me!
We got a dog, and he is absolutely adorable. We did the most bougee white thing ever and adopted a dog from Mexico(in our defense, one of H's close friends works for the organization and put us in contact). He definitely needs some groceries, and I have been reminded why we used to call them poopies instead of puppies. So without further ado, here's Cabo!
Do kids ever really listen? I mean, do they learn to kinda listen and then that bit of code just gets archived, not to be used unless absolutely necessary? Because Henry is seriously embracing 3...
I'm not going to elaborate too much, but apparently it's the season of accountability at my job, and yours truly got a participation trophy. Partially deserved for an accidental dousing of equipment with water, the other absolutely rediculous. In other work news, im going to be phased back into the position I wanted and im absofuckinglutely thrilled. I got to work it for 2 days this week, and my level of happiness went through the roof. I really do like my job, and my coworkers are pretty likeable on this crew. My supervisor is pretty cool, but the temporary position I've been working is too stressful for what my life needs these days. I need 50-60 hours of labour, with a routine and a feeling that I leave my job at the gate. The temporary position is so detailed that I seriously can't check out at the end of the day.
I had a almost 4 month check up post op on Monday, and all is really good. A1c is at its lowest since 2018 and is golden, all the cholesterols and other measurements are great, im down 60+ lbs, and my Dr is thrilled. 15 lbs till I can talk to my othro Dr Badhawaiianshirts about a knee replacement... and for that, I'm truly excited. Progress, truly, and its nice to see...
So my mom messaged me this week that she found a box of old slides and pictures she'd never seen before of her folks wedding and a bunch of her grandfather(who I loved- he spoke German, was an engineer, was big on education and always told me that I could do anything I put my mind to doing- so many funny and great stories of him...), and I can't wait to get them in a digital format. I miss those that have gone before so much these days, and find myself wanting to ask advice or get a nugget of wisdom that only comes with age.
Anyhow, if you made it this far, thank you. I'm glad to know you all, even if it's just the people who live in my phone. Much love!!!
