Also 5 years ago today, an album by a band I had just discovered that summer. The summer of '09 was my first Warped Tour, and I had gotten a free playlist from iTunes that included the song Sleepers. It quickly became one of my favorite songs, although it took me a while to really discover The Swellers. Over time, they also became a band that stuck with me, with lyrics and spirit that, like anyone's favorite pop punk band, keep you going through all the crap you gotta trudge through. Through 2 records with Fueled By Ramen, to an independent EP, to their home stretch on No Sleep Records, it's tough to see that they're calling it quits after this year.
