What do you think about Uranus square Pluto? And are there any difficulties this aspect can bring?

This placement screams sudden and rapid change and all throughout the person's life. They probably have been through some crazy stuff that required them to adapt or to get left behind, so on the plus side they might be a very adaptable person, but this is no easy placement that is for sure.

In ways, this placement makes a person always linger for some sort of security, stability, or consistency. Like I mentioned, this placement can bring a lot of uncontrollable change in one's life which can create a lack mindset that this individual will have to conquer at some point throughout their life. Success, status, and security can be obtained but it takes a lot of timely effort and this is definitely the placement that should not expect instant gratification. Working hard and having a long-term plan is really the main source of their success.

The difficulties that this placement can bring range from anything as little as a change in your daily routine to as big as a relocation/divorce/sudden physical change.

In my personal opinion the most difficult aspect of this placement has a lot to do with feeling / dealing with feelings of powerlessness. This individual might really struggle with giving up control but they're going to be put in situations where they have no choice but to adapt and that can be the hardest thing to do of all.

Other things to look out for are clashes in social settings, but more so in an academic or childhood setting. This person could have been heavily bullied for being a little different or stepping outside of the norm, they were very "othered" in one way or another and that is due to the fact that they are nothing like the people, place, or social/economical background that they come from. So a difficulty could literally be that they believe in a different religion than their family does, they are more liberal from a very conservative family or vice versa, they practice witchcraft or believe in Wicca and come from a religiously rich background etc. It could even be a simple as they just choose a different career path, but they come from a family of all doctors or all lawyers etc. This person will always be the outlier and that comes with challenges especially as they find themselves in situations with people trying to follow the status quo.

There are few more iconic images of the 1960s (or what astrologers call the Uranus Pluto conjunction) than Peter Fonda in the film Easy Rider and the Woodstock music festival. Both took place in 1969, technically after the end of the big planetary conjunction that brought together the planet of radical change and destroyer of the status quo (Uranus) and the planet of destruction and total transformation (Pluto) in the sign of convention and conservative values (Virgo). Peter Fonda (born 2/23/1940) was himself under 30 when Easy Rider came out, the youngest of the primary actors in the film who included Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson. Fonda wrote and produced the film which marked the spread of the 1960s (Uranus/Pluto) counterculture eruption into the mainstream consciousness. Fonda was born under a Full Moon in Virgo (Pisces Sun), and like many Full Moon personalities Fonda had an inner conflict from the Virgo/Pisces polarity which required continuous adjustment. Astrology Update: May 7, 2015

Venus arrives in Cancer today, bringing her sweetness to the sign of home, family, memories, and care. Venus makes things easy, like the right word with the right person that opens doors. Over the next four weeks Venus will help us connect to the things that nurture us and bring sustenance. Also keep in mind that Venus will cross the Uranus/Pluto square May 21–25 and there may be some turbulence around emotional themes, especially if you are a Venus ruled Taurus or Libra.

Moon is transitioning out of Sagittarius today and will arrive in Capricorn at 2:16 pm EDT. Capricorn is all about work, achievement, and building something to last. But with Saturn in Sag, we may need to hone our vision first. Enjoy!

Astrology Update: April 17, 2015

Moon in Aries day today, which will a light on action, will, and leadership. But with the Moon making a rendezvous with Uranus and Pluto, there's a lot of emotional static in the air, especially seeing how Pluto just turned retrograde. We're also in the dark of the lunar cycle, the two days that fall prior to the new moon. This is about letting go and preparing for the next lunar cycle.

There's also a spotlight on Mars today. As the emissary for the Aries Moon, it's over in Taurus making a square to Jupiter and a trine to Pluto. In English? Money, security, wealth, and resource may be a major focus into the weekend. Mars squaring off with Jupiter may show where we're being a little nearsighted, stubborn, and even self righteous. More on the Aries New Moon tomorrow!
