Edgar Cayce's natal chart: spiritual/psychic abilities - a study
Lilith in 6th house: he is considered the 'father of holistic medicine'. Holistic medicine is an "approach to medical treatment based on the theory that living organisms and the environment work together as an integrated whole". As I’ve already said, Lilith represents hidden powers, abilities, and things that we can have a deep attraction or denial. However, the areas that Lilith touches on represent issues that can be very present in our lives. Lilith in 6th house represents an ability to develop your spirituality in a profound way through the mind, your mind tends to be very spiritual and deeply connected to matters and things that are not seen. Lilith in 6th house also means the possibility of healing people through alternative medicines or mystical knowledge.
Furthermore, Lilith in 6th house brings out a fascination with care and health, making the native feel an interest in knowing the methods of preventing disease, as all the person wants to avoid is having to remedy him/herself.
By doing research on who Edgar Cayce was, we can find a great manifestation of Lilith in 6th house in his life. This website (Association for Research and Enlightenment) states that "Cayce’s precepts on health and the art of keeping in shape are not limited to a diet and regular exercise. For decades, Cayce had already insisted on the role of the mind in people's physical balance and well-being", "Cayce’s readings, annotated between 1901 and 1944, were ahead of his time by mention the influence of attitudes and emotions on health; energy medicine; the importance of prayer; spiritual healing".
"Comprehensive health, according to Cayce, corresponds to the harmonization of the three basic components of the human being: physical, mental and spiritual. The human being must be considered in its totality, body, mind and soul, and not limited to treating diseases for this reason, contemporary holistic medicine is often said to have its origins in the psychic readings of Edgar Cayce."
His Lilith in 6th house was in square to Neptune, which in turn was in the 9th house, creating a great concentration of energy in the area of spirituality. Probably at first, he had difficulties in channeling his psychic energy, his intuition, and knowledge/thoughts about the higher aspects of life, but later this manifested itself better and he managed to add such knowledge (Neptune in 9th house) with his interest in take care of health.
We realize that this interest in health and the conservation of our life is not expressed in the usual way, like a Mercury in 6th house, it is an interest in health and the practical part of our life being expressed with doses of spirituality and deep knowledge about the universe.
Chiron in 9th house trine ascendant in Leo: Initially, we need to say that this placement of Chiron corresponds to a wound and deep discomfort in relation to locating himself in the world. The native may feel that he has never been able to find answers to spiritual, existential questions, which can cause great discomfort. However, as I’ve said in this blog, Chiron also represents where we can heal others and impact their lives. That's because Chiron brings experiences so dense that it makes us aware of certain problems, and even if we can't heal ourselves, ironically, we know how to help others who go through the same or something similar. This aspect of Chiron trine ascendant represents that the questions that Edgar Cayce endured were felt even more intensely about who he was, how he showed himself to the world, and how he saw himself. This aspect of Chiron trine ascendant brings a greater sense of the wounds he had, it means that his Chiron was probably known to him, or he was aware of his issues. Ascendant in Leo made him a prominent figure who received attention when addressing issues relating to Chiron in 9th house.
This aspect (Chiron trine Ascendant) means that Edgar Cayce had Chiron sextile descendant. Therefore, when faced with other people, Edgar Cayce probably felt an even greater desire to seek answers to his inner problems, his existential questions, his dilemmas. As his descendant was in Aquarius, he may have felt a desire to help humanity through his issues with 9th house - spirituality, deeper knowledge about life, spiritual education.
Chiron in 9th house conjunct Neptune: this represents a deep connection with his Neptune placement, which brought him a lot of intuition and interest in existential issues, in the metaphysical, esoteric, spiritual world. Neptune probably helped him a lot on this spiritual journey.
North node in Pisces, South Node in Virgo / North Node in 7th house, South node in 1st house: having the nodes in angular houses tends to mean that the experiences lived during a lifetime involve large areas. It can represent that the native will have a lot of movement and contact with such areas of great importance in our lives. Angular houses are very active houses, which we tend to give more focus and attention to (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th). In the case of Edgar Cayce, he had to learn to have more harmony and to work with his sense of collectivity and otherness.
Since his South Node was in Virgo, we realized that he had a strong disposition in his personality to interpret things in life with a more practical and rational and less spiritual and intuitive look. His task was therefore to become more open to the realm of spirituality and intuition. From what I read about him, I perceive that he achieved this task, and the aura of Virgo did not fail to show itself, because of the strong development of writings, books, that is, knowledge in its practical aspect, practical and material things.
Pluto conjunct midheaven, Pluto square ascendant and Pluto square Uranus. These three aspects with Pluto in 10th house denote that there was a latent potter in his personality that should be placed in his career and life mission. A power to impact people, to change their view of the paths they should take in life from a practical point of view (10th house). Pluto in 10th house was in aspect with two angular houses (AC and MC) and with Uranus, which is a planet strongly linked to collectivity, to social issues.
Pluto conjunct midheaven: this aspect brings a need to make the career a place of transformation, profound changes (Pluto), and such changes tend to be externalized to other people see the results (MC). Pluto in Taurus in the 10th house and Midheaven in Taurus represent this strong desire to achieve an intense change in a certain area, the way the native will live his career tends to be transformative for others. MC in Taurus represents a tact and a sensitivity to be lived in the career. I would say that Taurus is the sign that, precisely because it is connected to the 5 senses, gives natives with Midheaven in this sign the opportunity to work in different areas, because they tend to have a predilection for what involves the 5 senses, sensitivity. Taurus midheaven has a hands-on approach and is more willing to build something solid. In Cayce’s case, his sensitivity represented his ability to channel responses about immortality, health, and reincarnation (Pluto matters).
Pluto square Ascendant: this aspect brings out a very high concentration of energy regarding the way the native sees himself and how he will show himself to others. This aspect represents a possibility of regeneration and changes in personality, in the way of treating and seeing oneself in the physical and mental sense. This aspect brings a lot of possibility to feel deeply the spiritual, psychological issues and simply what was hidden behind what he had contact with, since he had Pluto square descendant.
Pluto square Uranus: very interesting aspect, one of the most interesting aspects of astrology. Two planets with very deep meanings, are extremely strong, bringing up a certain tension, a concentration of energy that needs to be put out but finds difficulties. This aspect brings the fusion of Uranus' desire for freedom, change, critical sense with Pluto’s need to transform and be reborn. Pluto and Uranus together represent this ability to connect with social and human needs, higher mental and critical capacities, and the quest for healing and transformation.
Sun in Pisces in 8th house: very spiritual, intuitive personality, open to the most esoteric and mystical things. Sensitivity, social conscience. Depth, attraction of mystical people and situations, spiritual experiences. Notion of the importance of mental health, empathy, sensitivity. Sun sextile Pluto increases the ability to receive and channel spiritual energy if the person works at it (as he did).
Sun square Jupiter: personality focused on a search for meaning and meaning in life. Person who can be less optimistic. He looks for more practical and logical reasons about things (Jupiter in Capricorn).
Uranus is ruled by Aquarius and an Air Sign. (Thoughts)
Aquarius is emotional detachment, logical, practical, emotionally objective, and a thinker.
Uranus is the Great Awakener, the jolt, the bolt of lightning that enters unexpectedly. Erratic, unpredictable, revolutionary, rebel, out of the box thinking, belief systems, concepts theories, and stepping outside of the main…
We just had a full supermoon/blue moon lunar eclipse in Leo, sun in Aquarius. Wherever that point hits in your natal chart will mean a long-term culmination, end to something. A new moon solar eclipse is due in two weeks – February 15 –to bring in a new phase that could last years. That will be in Aquarius at 27 degrees of Aquarius conjunct Mercury. Mercury—the news, the media, what we are talking about, thinking about, will undergo a transition. In Aquarius, it can be unusual things occurring in the news, or alternative means of communication, or a new technology related to communication or travel. Jupiter in Scorpio will be square to that new moon, and a square angle creates stress or tension. Jupiter is expansive, and in Scorpio could be digging deep, bringing what is hidden out into the world and creating tension in what is being communicated. Hidden secrets, undiscovered items or issues can be the new topic of alternative media, alternative ways of thinking.
Before that all happens, we have Mars in Sagittarius sextile to Mercury in Aquarius on the 4th. Often Mars and Mercury can mean arguments or fights, but at this positive angle, there is a possibility for some passionate communication, strong news, or strong words that lead to a positive outcome. Possibly taking action to say something unexpected, or to sign an unusual or unique agreement could lead to a positive outcome. But if no action is taken, there will be nothing that comes of it.
Venus in Aquarius is square to Jupiter in Scorpio. Venus can relate to love, beauty, art, finances, happiness, creativity, or values. Jupiter, the expansion of what is hidden, of something related to money, could create tension in an unexpected way regarding money, values, what we own, art or the arts, happiness or good of the collective (Aquarius rules society, the greater good, social justice). Venus moves quickly so it may only last for a day or two, and it could soon become a positive connection, when Venus moves into Pisces and trines Jupiter. But while Venus is squaring Jupiter, Uranus in Aries is sextile to Venus and opposing Jupiter. Uranus in Aries can be unexpected action, or a new technology related to energy, possibly unexpected outbursts that, if the action occurs, will have a positive effect on Venus—the love, values, prosperity, beauty or happiness that is also unexpected or unpredictable in Aquarius (Uranus rules Aquarius), so there is a possibility for an unexpected action to occur that could bring a positive outcome regarding love, money, happiness, values. The unexpected action could hinder investigations, deep secrets, research, underground or underwater exploration or expansion. The recent earthquake in the Pacific ocean can relate to Jupiter (expansion) in Scorpio (water, what is hidden).
Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto and Uranus are the big players here, with Uranus preparing to move into Taurus and saturn having just recently entered Capricorn where Pluto is. Jupiter will remain in Scorpio at a highly positive angle to Pisces --for awhile it was to Neptune, now it is closer to Chiron, meaning that could bring about a healing to some sensitive issues related to compassion, creativity, and possibly even in film making or music, and perhaps related to water and spiritual matters. As we move toward summer, the connections between Uranus and Saturn will become positive, but for now, Uranus and Pluto are at odds as they are within about 5 degrees of being square to each other, and when Mars meets Pluto in Capricorn at the end of April, there could be a power play related to government. Some strong action taken regarding the authority, the government, the leader, and possibly strong action that brings about drastic change. That is a power struggle with unpredictable actions being taken, and it won’t likely let up for a couple of months, improving once Uranus enters Taurus.
Uranus square Pluto ~
Neptune square Saturn
HORROR BOX WORLD
The world is feeling this tightening of the Pluto-Uranus square, it is within 6 degrees right now, with the friction of Saturn-Neptune square. It’s like we have been boxed into a horror show
It’s been a rollercoaster ride the central of cosmic chaos
This has been a pattern over the last few years. The world is in turmoil so it is all hands on deck and for transdimensionalists, that’s you
astrology charms and starseeds. it means we have to keep our etheric channels open and release when we are pulled into trance. The path defined is limitless. It’s bringing out the worst so we can transcend and create a
sparkling new essence. With radio electric fusion of Uranus-Pluto, the intuitive lightning barbs of Uranus shock the higher mind with the unconscious signals of Pluto. Saturn in Sagittarius squares Neptune in Pisces, two spiritual bodies crashing into the walls and wisdom of Saturn and the delusion and divinity of Neptune.
All that is rotten, decayed and deviating from the soul agreement with Pluto is slashed into broken Phoenix pieces by a volatile wild child, better known as radical Uranus. This can come through the sudden, out of character rattles of Uranus or the deep, painful pangs of Pluto. Albert Einstein says that, “It is impossible to solve a problem on the same level of consciousness that created it”. The accumulated and outworn wreckage in one’s life (outlook, relationships, desires, profession), may be exhumed by the new perspectives, intuitive bursts in consciousness and confronting truths erupting from the Uranus-Pluto sub-layer.
The soul’s infinite manuscript, and this is the words of Pluto are flickering neon Aquarius light. Uranus is the kaleidoscope of the future and overturns existing arrangements, habits and lifestyles in wicked and outlandish fashion. And with barren Pluto, existing only as a flickering light lantern in the underworld, shock and scream combine to create twin demolition forces. This sparks conflict. Sagittarius rules countries, global thought, and foreign affairs. Saturn represents politics. Saturn squares Neptune in Pisces, the collective unity, but also the mass delusion. Pluto can be war mongering, it rules nuclear weapons, and Uranus is unpredictable in combative Aries. This can bring about tremendous transformation of the Saturn establishment. Neptune in Pisces wants humanity to unify, through taking each other in, as asylum seekers and ‘We are all one’ campaigns, but there is Neptunian confusion and illusion, political (Saturn in Sagittarius) lies and international deceit. There are irrational Neptune fears that all refugees are extremists and high fears and anxieties in general.
Steven Forrest says that transiting Uranus-Pluto aspects barely give us time to think. They are extremely revealing of personal character, our true psychospiritual orientation, our priorities and agendas. Uranus enters the picture and detonates the power of Pluto social conditioning. Plutonian truth is liberated by Uranian contact. This can be through unconscious, unprocessed material; old angers, betrayals, humiliations, and violations. It can also express through sudden risings to consciousness of what we really want or need. He describes it as being a sort of “I’ve had enough of this job, I’m handing in my resume and starting a new career”.
There is conflict when we lose our comforts and stability under the impulse of transient surges and flashes of a new life pathway that promises a new, a better, mystic wealth and divine recognition.
The tension going on in the world is impossible to miss. Tragedy is thrown into our face during every moment. The chaos in the world right now is a reflection of the tension within. We watch the world roar on throwing tragedy in our faces
day after day. We are not so sure if we should appreciate that we are still alive, participating in this life, but we have been left with a wasteland. It’s during these times the most beautiful and simple things, a newborn’s giggle, the sound of a panflute, the mango skyline as the sunsets that keep the spirit alive and thriving. As Forrest concluded, our true psychospiritual orientation is bought to light, if we focus, we can find God in a glass of water. That may be all we need right now. The tightening of the Pluto-Uranus square will continue until mid 2016
Through the crackling signal, sparkling Air breath (Uranus) and otherworldly, angelic potential (Pluto) await.
Pluto in Capricorn: When the Lord of the Underworld Dresses up Like a Goat-Fish
Pluto in Capricorn: When the Lord of the Underworld Dresses up Like a Goat-Fish
Did you know that the American Revolution took place while Pluto was in Capricorn, and that the United States of America was “born” with Pluto in Capricorn? Many events of historical significance have taken place with this same Pluto configuration. More so, when Pluto squares-off with Uranus, as it has been for the last three years, we often see sweeping changes to our technology, institutions,…
The most dynamic days of this months are March 10 to 12 and 15. Fiery Mars is coming to switch on lights and burst energy what was kept underground. This can be exciting and explosive time. Depends on what energy was squeezed for some time. Your energy level will go up and down and it will be sometimes hard to apply it consistently.
Motivation and drive planet Mars is extremely energized in Aries. There is long lasting aspect (2,5 years) formed by Pluto and Uranus – tension & revolution - coming exact for the last time on March 15. Mars will join this intense company to open and realize this energy at any price and quick.
If you are personally being affected by this Mars & Uranus & Pluto transit (you have to explore your natal chart) read some advises for these days:
take action to brake free old habits and patterns
start experimental project with excitement, but keep realism and energy level afterwards
take some extra caution to avoid accidents
control stress level
find motivation to go beyond perceives limitations, be ambitious
empower yourself with determination and courage, find it bursting
keep clear mind what you really want, do not over intensify your needs
Avoid doing things at any price, think on consequences.
The negative side of this energy is obsessive control, anger, destructiveness, hitting against the wall and cruelty. Sexual tension can be strong.
You can change your life situation significantly by applying courage, motivation, anger and passion, but do not burn all the bridges behind you.
This is actually one that, if you've been following the news or even just going onto Facebook, you're seeing it and feeling it play out.
The reason is that outer planet aspects like this, especially a square, are acted out on the collective and not just the personal.
Both Uranus and Pluto play a role in transformation of self and of culture. Pluto represents the underlying desire nature of the soul itself, and is a driving (sometimes conscious, sometimes unconscious) force that is at play whether or not we want it to be. When we ignore Pluto, or run away from Pluto, it can become shadow and manifest itself as crisis. But Pluto is also responsible for healing, great awakening, and transmutation - the phoenix from the ashes, the great transformations of consciousness. And Uranus symbolizes the collective urge for liberation through all types of freedom, new ideas, innovation, new ways of perceiving reality. There are two types of liberation at play here:
1. Liberation from something (Pros: quick change, effective. Cons: collateral damage, the "become what you hate" phenomenon)
2. Liberation itself (Pros: inspires new ways of thinking, elevates humanity as a whole. Cons: There are none, in my opinion, when this is a true experience. It has so much power and reaches far and wide and stands the tests of time. HOWEVER It is when someone is pretending this path to ignore the first step, and not actually being this path, that this is not really true liberation. It is when someone ignores reality as a form of transcending it, which is not transcendence at all.)
The square between Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries means that there are two forces forming tension:
1. Pluto in Capricorn: Desire nature to build structural reality. Crisis when these structures (Saturn/Capricorn) are not functioning or do not support the soul or collective's goals or life. If the pipes are broken, they're going to burst. Transformation of the structural reality. This is a heavy, strong energy. Giant towers. Impressive mountains. (And do giant towers crumble like gently falling snowflakes? Nope. The building and the fall have that same, Saturn infused heavy energy. Pluto also represents cycles of life, death and rebirth.)
2. Uranus in Aries: Liberate through the instinctual nature. Being liberated or free through the impulses, yang outward and forward motion. Aries wants to move. Uranus likes to be brilliant. This is a fast, brilliant energy. Electric, independent but interconnected, zingy, sharp, quick.
For us filtering our experience of the Universe as people... This Uranus placement can agitate the Capricorn footholds and Capricorn's desire to stay solid, and the rigidity of structures will irritate or block Uranus's impulses, but Aries can be a battering ram, and Aries wants what it wants. Pluto in Capricorn signifies as well a desire to form structures based on the underlying truth and reality, so there is a call from deep within to build structures that actually work. In a beautiful way, Uranus in Aries is here to nudge and irritate and bother the parts of the Capricorn shadow. And the wisdom of Capricorn is here to give direction to the Aries shadow that is too impatient to build, and only wants to wage war. Squares present conflict AND opportunity. This is the tension. This is the gift. Structures are cracking, the debris is spreading, and what will happen next? Rebuilding. The consciousness revolution is happening, and it is graceful that it may be in tandem with the government and social revolutions, because if we're going to step out of vicious cycles, we'd need to try something new (Uranus in Aries - pioneering innovator!)
It's no coincidence that my Facebook newsfeed is a combination of political upheaval - the challenging of hegemonic values or systems, the exposure (Pluto) of underlying structural forms of inequality and injustice - and then - spiritual, "be here now", sacred geometry, and the like.
Each have their role, and they don't need to disdain the other. One of the biggest reasons I do astrology is to understand all different types of human experiences and to validate people to do what they are good at and what brings them happiness. The great thing about that is that we as humans are actually wired to be able to experience flow - complete, in tune, ecstatic joy - when we do what we're good at. And then the rest of humanity benefits from it as well, if we share it or are discovered somehow. I am filled with love for the activists and the protesters and the scientists looking for cures for illnesses and the guys living in cabins off the grid and the preacher who loves his work and shares good word and the chef who makes art with his ethical, love-filled food.
But true liberation doesn't mean you put your headphones on when the bombs go off. We are all in this together, even if it doesn't look like it immediately on the surface. You don't have to look the other way at injustice to keep yourself from getting sad or burdened. You have to decide which battles are yours, though. And if part of your process right now is dropping off of the grid and living in a cabin in the woods for a bit, I won't fault you. Hopefully you'll write a book about it later that will help us grid peeps out. We all can answer the call for Uranian liberation in our own way. But if the battles in the news aren't yours to fight, it doesn't mean you have to turn away either. Educate yourself. Form connections. Be a member of Reality as it unfolds, and play a role you can be proud of.
Ah, the fun astrology of this time. So warm, so fuzzy. So willing to whip out its cosmic Uzi and wipe out everything you thought you understood.
Granted, it’s not a fun time for much of anyone. But using the energies wisely, or learning how to do this for your highest & best, is always why I share them in this blog. So I want to warn, and hopefully empower, you about what’s coming up.
Tomorrow, Halloween/Samhain, we’ve got Mars, planet of assertiveness and progress, trining Pluto, planet of transformation. That’s a power-packed combination that wants you to get where you’re going, post-haste. But since both planets are so strong, there may be some head-butting, or difference of opinion on how best to get there. The best bet, based on where they’re falling (the Earth Signs of Virgo and Capricorn, respectively), is to adhere to what’s simplest, what makes the most practical sense, and what takes you where you’re eventually headed in the straightest possible line.
Don’t be surprised if people suddenly drop out of your life during a strong astrological time like this. Vibrational alignment aside, this is when the universe needs to make sure that you’re with the right people. So if someone drops out, they’re not meant to make this portion of the journey with you. No harm, no foul. Try to stay as neutral to this as possible, even if things get ugly.
Mars will also opposes Chiron, as asteroid meaning “healing through pain,” and quincunx Uranus in Aries. All in all, it’s a very powerful bunch of energies, some of which want to move in the direction you’d like, and some of which want to go another way. Since the universe isn’t messing around right now, and it needs to protect what you’re doing, according to your unique purpose, AND we’re headed into a time of Mercury retrograde applying to Saturn, and Pluto squaring Uranus (on November 1st — yay), it’s important to know who’s really on your side.
Some of you will no doubt want to run, hide, or snuggle up under the comforter with some tea and a book book for the next week or so, I always feel it’s best to learn how to ebb and flow with the energies of the universe. While they may not always agree with you, see things your way, or even cooperate, you can achieve a lot more by opening what you need to, protecting what needs protection, and learning from what the universe sends your way. During this time, there are going to be a lot of overt signs in your life.
Wishing you the best of luck surfing those emotional waves. Stay safe out there!
