Developed over centuries as a mixture of foreign and local languages, Urdu is one of the sub-continents most common languages, and happens to be Pakistan's national language. In modern times, Urdu has a fascinating history of design and typography—that is before the computer era kicked in and killed it (since Urdu wasn't supported for a very long time, and even today there are a very limited number of fonts for it).
