Though it’s pitch black outside and possible doom lurks around every corner, Uriah feels comfortable running side by side with his brothers and sisters. The strength of Dauntless frightens any factionless creep looking to pick a fight. Thankfully the streets are clean tonight. Only the few slip by with their eyes cast down, not wanting to draw any attention towards them. His eyes scan the factionless people, looking but not seeing until his gaze fell on a woman who looked to be of his age. Her eyes were planted on him, back straight like a razor blade. She emitted a sort of confidence that didn’t belong to the factionless person. Uriah continued to watch her with curious eyes, longing to uncover her mystery. But just as he stepped out of the group, she seemed to vanish like a ghost in the night. That was the first and last time he saw her.. Until now..
Gunshots echoed throughout the city as Uriah slipped away from the crowd, following a group of Divergent members he’d only met a few months prior. The alley is cold, cast aside from the sun rays. The gun in his hand was cold despite the sweat that dripped down his arms. The young man couldn’t believe how much had changed in his life. He wondered if things would ever go back to the way they were? But as he looked upon the frighten people, factionless or not, he knew better than to ever allow himself to go return to that life. Uriah huddles close to Tris and Tobias, watching the horrors unfold before them. They couldn’t stay in the city but they also couldn’t leave without a clear sign of escape. The boots of the Dauntless soldiers slammed down against the concrete like a loud bang of the bullets they shot at civilians.
Uriah watched closely as the middle soldier turned her head towards him, defiant of the others before winking at the young man. It was the same girl he’d seen a few months prior. What was she doing? He thought to himself before an answer was quick to show itself. Suddenly she pulls out what looks to be an eighteen-inch baton. With a simple click of a button, it courses to life. Bright white tendrils of electricity bounce up and down the terrifying weapon. She smirks once more at Uriah before smacking each of the fifteen Dauntless soldiers in the neck. They jerk and shake, jolting in pain before collapsing to the ground. Quickly the young woman scans her surroundings before taking Tobias in a quick and surprising embrace.
“Good to see you, Tobias. I can get you all out of the city but we have to hurry.” Her bright eyes stagger on Uriah and he can’t help but drift toward her. “Names Uriah and you are?” He says, semi-confidently. “(Y/n). It’s nice to meet you, handsome. Let’s get going now before all we have are brief introductions.” He’s on her tail, fascinated by the woman who’s taken up his mind for months. Now he understands. She’s divergent, different from the rest but just like him. They slip in and out of the alleyways before finally reaching the end of the city. Only one more block. Uriah thinks with relief before a loud series of gunshots ring out near them, striking the side of the wall. Before he can even register his own thought process, his body moves.
Uriah grabs (Y/n)’s hand, pulling her away and slamming her body against the wall while he pressed himself against her, shielding her frame from the bullets that slip by. One catches his shoulder but he doesn’t take notice to the pain, too focused on the adrenaline coursing through his veins as he cradled her head. Tobias and Ethan shoot at the Dauntless dummies, cringing when they drop like flies. The sound quickly ceases and all any of them can hear are the sounds of their ragged breaths. (Y/n) flushes pink at how close the handsome man is to her, his warm breath washing down on her neck. When he pulls away, it is not far. Uriah scans her frame to make sure she wasn’t harmed in the attack. “Aren’t you gonna ask me on a date first?” (Y/n) says attempting to subdue the heat in her cheeks.
He chuckles lowly, eliciting chills across her skin before hissing pain. She slips her head until his arm pit, allowing him to lean on her. “How ‘bout we get this bullet out my shoulder first? Besides, you owe me dinner.” Uriah says, jokingly. (Y/n)’s heart flutters when she looks at the handsome hero, blushing all the while as they make their escape. Tobias looks at the young love, smirking softly to himself. Even in times of great conflict, things like romance never cease to flourish.
Imagine: Being close to Uriah and he invites you to go zip lining with him and the others.

“Hey princess!” You roll your eyes when you hear your best friend call you by that nickname.
“Hey Uriah, what’s up?” You ask as he jogs up to you and wraps his arm around your waist.
“Well, we’re all heading to the Hancock Building to go zip-lining,” Uriah replies, the older kids usually took the new Dauntless-born initiates zip-lining as a welcoming tradition. Even though you were Dauntless-born yourself, no one had told you tonight was zip-lining night, that was one downfall of the Dauntless, when they got hyped about something, they’d forget about being inclusive, and if you didn’t keep up you’d get left behind. Lucky for you, you were best friends with the kid who knew how to keep up with everyone, “Do you want to join?”
“Nah, I think I’m going to call it a night,” You shrug.
Uriah looks at you as if he’s genuinely offended, “I’m not going to let my best friend sit around being a pansycake. You’re going!”
“Alright, alright,” You gently put your hand against his bicep, “Calm down tiger.”
You and Uriah have known each other for as long as you can remember. You have always had quite a flirtatious relationship, but neither you every acted upon it, deep down, you always wished one of you would.
You run up the stairs to the top of the Hancock building alongside an extremely chatty group of Dauntless. Once you finally reach the top, Zeke gives a brief run through of what you’ll be doing. A few of the older kids go before letting the initiates have a turn, “So who wants to go next?”
Uriah steps up, “Me!”
Before he’s pushed he yells, “You’re next Y/L/N!”
You laugh as his figure gets smaller and smaller and eventually disappears.
“Alright Y/N, it’s your turn,” Zeke finally says. You feel your stomach drop and you have the urge to turn away. No, I’ll probably be thrown out of the faction, that is if Uriah doesn’t kill me first.
“Okay...” Zeke and a few others lift you up and strap you into the harness. You take a deep breath.
“On the count of three! One...Two!” He takes you by surprise and pushes you before he reaches three. You let out a panicked scream, mentally cursing both Zeke and his brother. The panic eventually dies down, and you actually start having fun.
You close your eyes and let go of the harness, you spread your arms out and let out a scream of joy. You feel free and are enjoying yourself so much that you don’t even realize when you reach the end. You hear people scream at you to pull the brakes.
You fall free from the harness and land in the arms of the people under you as they cheer. Uriah comes running up to you and takes you into his arms, “You did great! I know you were scared, but you did it Y/N! I’m so proud of you!”
Just as you’re about thank him, he leans in a kisses you. This has been the moment you’ve been waiting for for years, so without missing a beat you kiss him back.
The people around you notice what’s going on and a few of them whistle and cheer, someone even shouts, “Finally!”
Uriah pulls away, “I’ve waited a long time to do that.”
“So have I,” You blush as he wraps his arm around you, placing another gentle kiss on your forehead.

"S-stay away from me." You whisper into the darkness, hearing footsteps in the corridor before you. Having a Halloween party at dauntless was literally the worst becuase everyone was out to scare you half to death and it was beginning to get to you after the 5th time soneone jumped out of nowhere.
"Woah." Uriah says, appearing out of the dark, "Don't worry it's just me."
You sigh, "Well, thank god someone normal."
"You wanna go back together, this is seriously getting on my nerves."
"Oh yes please."
"Uriah…stop touching my shoulder!"
"Y/N I'm walking in front of you…" Uriah says in a hushed tone, both of you slowly turning around.
"I think we should really go." You say after looking behind you and seeing nothing but darkness.
"I totally agree." You walk slowly at first but soon the panic takes over and both of you start to run like crazy.
"Did you hear that?…Did you see that?" You yell over the echoing footsteps and panting noises.
"No! And I'm very glad I didn't." He yells back and suddenly pulls you into a room with him.
"Where are we?"
"My room." He answers with a smirk, "You're welcome to stay the night."
"We're trapped in a haunted house and you're trying to flirt with me?"
1. “Stop touching my shoulder!” - “Y/N I’m walking in front of you…”

Normally you loved missions like these. It was a great opportunity to get out of the dauntless compound and actually see a bit of the world. Having Uriah with you was especially fun because you two got along really well. Though today you wished they had send someone else with him.
The place you were supposed to visit looked abandoned and not at all like a erudite facility. The place was full of cobwebs when you walked inside and not a single person was seen anywhere.
You looked at each other questioningly before you shrugged and started looking around.
“Did you hear that?” Uriah asks and nervously starts fumbling around for your hand.
“I’m not going to hold your hand, so stop trying to scare me.”
“Please, seriously Y/N I heard something really weird.”
“Come on, pull yourself together.”
You try to sound more confident than you really are because once both of you freak out you’d never be able to finish your job.
You searched the area for a bit until even you couldn’t deny that there definitely was something wrong.
“Stop touching my shoulder.” You say exasperated, looking left and right, frantically searching for any sign of life.
“Y/N I’m walking in front of you…”
You stop, both spinning around to stare at the corridor behind you.
“Uriah…what kind of facility did they say this was…?” You ask, staring at the shadow that is standing at the end of the small corridor.
“Research…”
“Of what?”
You both stay still for a moment longer until the shadow begins to move in your direction again.
