i think i've heard that hypospadias can cause urinary urgency / (near) incontinence and at first i didn't think that was relevant to me but now i'm wondering if it might? i have vestibulovaginal hypospadias. for basically all of my life i've been dehydrated because i've avoided drinking water outside of my house, not drinking for long stretches of time, because i find it troublesome to be out in public and suddenly need to find a restroom. i go from feeling nothing to urgently needing to get to the restroom and feeling like i need to focus intently on holding it in and physically positioning my body to ensure this. i also had issues growing up where i would accidentally wet myself much older than other kids did, usually if i was laughing. it was extremely embarrassing </3
i kind of just assumed this was how it feels for everyone but now i'm not sure? is it usually a more gradual feeling when people need to go to the bathroom or does it go from 0 to 100 in a second and take significant focus to avoid wetting yourself? now that i have been all but ordered by a doctor to stop depriving myself of water the issue is becoming more apparent lol
just in case anyone has any idea 😭 thanks!
lmao first of all disclaimer that idk if i'm the best source for Normal Pissing Experiences given i also went years being like "this is probably mostly normal" abt objectively not normal experiences. yayyyy criminally underdiagnosed variation moment
anyways what you are describing could def be related to your hypospadias! i relate a lot to what you are saying here. i also wrote off "incontinence" as a symptom bc i didn't really experience a loss of control. but then after doing more reading, i started connecting the dots w weird urinary issues i didn't realize were issues bc i had just naturally found ways to make them less of an issue in my day to day life.
what you are describing is often described in medical stuff as urgency (link). ik i get the "suddenly Need To Pee" sensation fairly often as well, & i also get anxious abt drinking outside the home (altho im also visibly trans so that's another big part of it.) also needing to do smth physically to hold it. if you feel comfortable w one, a doctor could probably give you more advice on what can help you manage this (esp if they are receptive to learning abt vulvar hypospadias). best of luck anon 💜💛
