Getting dressed for work with my Incontrol BeDry diaper. These are really great daytime diapers. Thin and discreet but they’re pretty absorbent and super comfy!
The doctors had told him it was normal, it was to be expected from a man who’s had so many injuries and medical procedures, but Captain John Price refuses to accept that he has urinary incontinence.
It’s not something he admits to himself, let alone you. You’ve only been in a handful of dates, known each other for 3 months now, he never wanted you to find out.
It wasn’t an issue, a few awkward times where he said he had wiped his hands on his trousers, until you had started hinting at him sleeping over.
He had always made up an excuse, saying he had paperwork or plans with friends, anything to get out of admitting he woke up wet more often than not.
You pout up at him, arms wrapped round his neck. “Oh come on John.. please? We can order food and watch movies and cuddle and we’ll get to wake up still together.”
He goes to shut it down again but you kiss him before he can. “Please.. I just want to wake up in your arms..”
He stares at you for a minute before relenting. “Okay.. I’ll- I’ll stay the night..”
You squeal and leap at him, clinging to him and kissing all over his face.
He spends the night ignoring his thirst and refusing any and all drinks you offer, he does it casually enough that you don’t pick up on it.
Despite his attempts he still wakes up in a puddle, panicking as he tries to think of any excuse. When you start to stir, however, he instead decides to lock himself in your bathroom; really brave.
“John? John, baby, where are you?”
When you finally knock on the bathroom door he’s embarrassed by the presence of tears brimming his eyes. “John, love are you okay in there?”
He stays as silent as possible, a juvenile attempt of fooling you into leaving him alone. “Honey I’m not angry about the sheets if that’s what you’re worried about..”
His voice is barely audible by the time it carries through the door. “I’m sorry..”
“It’s okay, I’m just worried about you.. It’s okay I promise.. can you open the door for me, baby?”
Despite the fact he’s over a foot taller than you he looks painfully innocent as he peeks through the barely open door.
He’s incredibly grateful for the fact you don’t step into the bathroom immediately. “Can I come in..?”
The door only opens slightly but you take him stepping back as invitation enough, giving him the dignity of not looking at the dark spot on his pyjama bottoms.
“Here..” You gently push him to sit on the closed toilet, crouching in front of him. “Does this.. is this a new thing for you?”
His cheeks flush a hot pink as he shakes his head. “No.. it’s not..”
You push his bed-mussed hair back. “Why didn’t you tell me, hon?”
He feels like a kid as he mumbles. “Embarrassed..”
“I wish you’d have told me, John, I’d never judge you for something you can’t help..”
He glares at his lap, still filled with shame.
“Come on, let’s get you in a shower, hm?”
You leave him to clean up alone, interrupting slightly when you knock and tell him there’s clean clothes outside the door.
When he slinks back into your bedroom he looks slightly better but still embarrassed.
You’re already back in bed, fresh sheets, opening your arms to him.
You watch him hesitate, choosing to stay stood. “Did I ruin your mattress?”
You smile softly and shake your head. “No.. I keep a waterproof mattress topper on so that I can drink tea in bed..”
That seems to settle him slightly and he crawls into bed beside you, curling into his side. “I’m sorry..”
You press a kiss to his head and pet his damp hair. “I know.. but you don’t need to be.. it wasn’t your fault and you didn’t ruin anything, it’s just an extra load of washing baby it’s not a big deal I promise..”
“But-“
“Nope. No more saying sorry, it’s sleep time..”
The next time he comes round you lead him to the bedroom with a blinding smile. “I’ve got a surprise”
He lets you tug him along, cheeks slightly flushed.
You do cheesey jazz hands that manage to get him to grin. “Ta-da!”
He looks at you with a cocked brow. “What.. is it..?”
“I got a new blanket- it’s waterproof..”
His eyes light up and he strokes a hand over the fluffy grey blanket. “It is? But- where did you get it?”
“Well.. it’s technically listed as a pet blanket but I thought it might help the next time you sleepover”
“You’d.. want me to sleepover again?”
“Of course I would..”
He’s smiling brightly until you clear your throat. “I got something else..”
Based on the look on your face he frowns slightly. “Something tells me Im not going to like it..”
You lead him to your bathroom and open the cupboard, pointing to where you keep sanitary products and toiletries for guests.
“Diapers?”
“You don’t have to wear them if you don’t want to.. I just- if you want to try it you can.. I’d never judge you, John..”
He, despite the dread he feels at the concept of a diaper, looks at you with utter adoration; you’d be willing to have a boyfriend who wets himself if it meant you got to be with him.

trying to find a disability space that isn't just fetish content or full of 60+ y/os who you share no experience with is like. some funny analogy or whatever
Stop using the word incontinence to just mean urinary incontinence. Fecal incontinence exists and you are not immune to perpetuating higher levels of stigmatization even when working on destigmatizing something already highly stigmatized.
Urinary Incontinence – The Basics
"Types of urinary incontinence include: • Stress incontinence. Urine leaks when you exert pressure on your bladder by coughing, sneezing, laughing, exercising or lifting something heavy. • Urge incontinence. You have a sudden, intense urge to urinate followed by an involuntary loss of urine. You may need to urinate often, including throughout the night. Urge incontinence may be caused by a minor condition, such as infection, or a more severe condition such as a neurological disorder or diabetes. • Overflow incontinence. You experience frequent or constant dribbling of urine due to a bladder that doesn't empty completely. • Functional incontinence. A physical or mental impairment keeps you from making it to the toilet in time. For example, if you have severe arthritis, you may not be able to unbutton your pants quickly enough. • Mixed incontinence. You experience more than one type of urinary incontinence — most often this refers to a combination of stress incontinence and urge incontinence."
"When to see a doctor: You may feel uncomfortable discussing incontinence with your doctor. But if incontinence is frequent or is affecting your quality of life, it's important to seek medical advice because urinary incontinence may: • Cause you to restrict your activities and limit your social interactions • Negatively impact your quality of life • Increase the risk of falls in older adults as they rush to the toilet • Indicate a more serious underlying condition
