Occasionally there are character sheets that get paired with PKNA comics (labeled as part of the "PK Files" series) after the main stories, and I've only ever been able to find a handful of them translated into English so I figured that for archival purposes I would seek out the images and translate them myself!
This post contains all the character files from PKNA chapters #0.2 - #16 (and as such may contain character spoilers for those issues so be warned!)
I'm continuing work on the second batch so I'll put a link here when that post is up. Keep in mind that this project has taken me a very long time already, so it's probably going to be a while!
Duck Comic Reading Club Week 29: Paperinik New Adventures: Twilight
Someone out there in the Disney italian office said, you know what we need after a Angus Fangus issue? An Urk issue. And, instead of being fired, they got away with it.
So, here we are, is Urk time.
The story begins with this guy with an enviable mustache talking about Ragnarok. Yes, he's fan of Thor and Taika Waititi. I'm just being silly, he meant the end of the world as the nordic legends told. That probably will be relevant later on.
Back in Duckburg, Christmas is upon us. Donald invites Lyla to spent the holidays with the McDucks, and that's an lovely idea. I sure hope they'll show us that party. Little side note, Angus has a picture of PK over a dart board. What a hater.
Donald then drop the bomb, Urk is going home. He's leaving this dimension for good. Lyla gets shock, but, spoiler alert, she didn't even tried to go with PK to at least say bye pal.
We got an explanation of how Uno managed this miracle, but who cares? Urk's leaving, that's what matters.
We got a bit of techno magic and in a Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Bu we're on Urk's world.
The duo went into town and Urk gets the hero welcome. The huge duck asked for his sister and thing went south from there.
Apparently, the vikings are in a war with America, and the sister, Zeryn, has developed a weapon. Ok, so, remember the weird formless monster in Urk's debut? The vikings created them, and Zeryn can kill them.
INCAS MENTION! PERU! PERU! PERU! PERU!
The council told Urk to get a place for her sister in the graveyard, but he didn't listen. He went to save his sister, PK by his side. Later, some dude called Kiltor join the mission. He said he was in love with Zeryn. Urk didn't like that one bit. PK tried to calm him down, but fail.
OH MY GOD! DELLA MENTION!!!
Is she on the moon on this universe? Is she secretly a time traveler? Is she the mother of Trip Son of Raider? Is she actually Everett Ducklair? You can't just reference Della fucking Duck without expecting questions.
But man… a Peru and Della mention in the same issue… This is the best comic ever made.
Anyway, the trio part in a rescue mission, but when they arrived at Sweden, they got ambush. The ship is hit by the enemies, crashes and explodes, and Kiltor dies. But not before PK and Urk jump out of the danger.
I don't know why PK got so sad about Kiltor, he met the guy 2 hours ago.
What it's a real reason to be sad is the fact that Donald lost the X-Transformer. Without his shield, Donald is trapped in this dimension. He has now to spend his entire life along side Urk. Imagine that.
And when things couldn't look worse, the duo is attacked by wolves. Thankfully, they're saved by a hunter with another magnificent mustache.
But don't forget, we're on a war here. Of course the hunter calls the military. They tried to capture PK and Urk, but the last one beat the hell out of them. They steal one of the helicopters and arrive at the Vikings' castle. They tried to pass without being noticed, but fail miserably.
This beat is actually funny.
Why did PK needed the mask anyway? No one know who the hell he is.
Anyway, they search the castle, looking for Zeryn. Donald finds a large woman, and thinks she's Urk's sister. She's not. The real one is a thin duck who looks nothing like Urk. I not saying that they should be identical, but I have a sister and we look like siblings (I'm the handsome tho).
Now, the twist, Kiltor is alive, and is a traitor. He worked with the Vikings all along. He faked his dead in order to steal the X-Transformer. Now, the Vikings can conquer other dimensions.
Ok, why would anyone want to conquer other dimensions? Do you know how much work that would be? All the paper work the King is going to have? Not worth it.
Well, the bad guys thought that they had all figure it out, but they didn't know who they captured. That's mother fucking PK right there. He use his remote to regain his shield and the battle began. With his technology and Urk's strength, the trio escaped.
But Zenit's mission was far from over. It was her time to make the ultimate sacrifice. You see, she was the ultimate weapon. She had to be captured in order to destroy the Viking's monster.
Now, is Zenit time to achieve immortality.
The plan worked. Everything explodes, the castle rumbles. Zenit's sacrifice leads them to victory.
Naaaah… You actually believe Zenit was dead? They came back and took her with them.
But the victory is not complete. The Baron von Viking had recorder the shield codes in a cd-rom (remember the cd-roms?) and now he has the tools to interdimensional travel. The time for vengeance has arrived…
Yeah... forget about that...
At the end everything went well, the good guys are safe and the bad guys are dead. That's a happy ending.
We wrap thing up with PK saying goodbye to Urk and the promise that they'll see each other again. I'm sure many more Urk adventures are on the way.
The last thing we see is Lyla not in the Christmas party, but reading Urk's letter when he confess to her. To be fair, who wouldn't fall for Lyla?
Ok, Url is not that good of a character, but this story I found it really fun. It was a fun adventure with high stakes and lot of action. Zenit looks I really liked it, even if she look more of a Lyla sibling than Urk's. I had my doubts at first, but this one delivers.
