The past few days have been stressful (lost thousands of dollars...), and I've had a lot of work to do, but the commission I got for the characters is finally done!
I hope to have time to write soon. I'm putting a lot of thought on how to incorporate the skill system to give it real impact. Much of Chapter 1 is conversational, so I'd like to add more action and movement in this next one!
Regarding some asks I received asking for dates: I don't have a good estimate, but I am aiming for by the end of this year for Chapter 2. I'm halfway through the rough draft, but there is additional content (mainly alternate routes and branching) I want to add to make the update rich and worth re-reading the IF for again. ♥️

This update is a massive improvement for new readers rather than warranting an entirely new playthrough. If you have any saves right before the Ceremony, you can find the most content there! However, the changes and additions are all over the demo.

Minor rewording for Karen encounter.
MC can now openly grimace when mortals call for MC's attention in Chapter 1. Previously, the only real negative reaction to them is turning away, which is open for any interpretation as to why MC does so.
When mortals ask for MC's help, MC can snap at them to speak quickly.
Most choices suggested you are friendly with Nero, so added a couple of options that are neutral towards him, leaning towards dismissive.
Rewrote a line that says you waved to Nero goodbye. It simply says that he departs.
Added an option to be frustrated with the conversation about mortals, when the only other non-positive options about mortals were about being completely disinterested.
Added an option where the MC says they can take care of themselves or they don't need other people worrying about them so much.
When choosing to be touch averse, selective, or not touch averse, you can now choose to be selective and not want to touch Rafaele, which initially was not an option.
If you are the Universal Eye, you tell Salvatore about the Universe being in pain and they dismiss it, you may be able to refuse conversation with them. They might keep talking to you, but you won't respond to them.
Can decide your relationship to your parents. Can also decide if you're open about your feelings towards them or not.
Variations in how your parents speak to you while preparing and during the Ceremony if they are aware of your bitterness towards them.
Can again openly express disdain for mortals or keep your feelings to yourself when answering Rafaele's question, when originally those options were absent
Can storm off from Ciocana if you do not express positive feelings about the dance, especially if you are touch-averse.
Added blue, pink, purple, and no hair options to Chapter 1, not available in the prologue.
Added red and gold eye colors to Chapter 1, not available in the prologue.
Added clothes option to Chapter 1 to wear to the Ceremony.
ROs will comment on your clothes if they particularly like it during the Ceremony (each have 3 out of 6 clothes they like.)
Added pronouns before the Ceremony. You can have multiple pronouns, remove them, and add multiple of the same kind to increase its chances of frequency.
Hi guys! I just wanted to share how the current game is looking at the moment.
This extremely blurry image simply shows how the Prologue (pink), Chapter 1 (purple), and Chapter 2 (blue) are organized.
As can be seen for Chapter 2's layout, it's currently quite linear, though the arrows illustrate my plans for where it should branch off, based on player choices. I have also scribbled out passages that will not make it in, as I decided to take a different direction. It's a decision that has made me much happier with the story, and introduces a new feature I hope to add in... :) See below for a sneak peek of it!
I have also made the arduous switch over from Twine to Twee. Again, I predict it will streamline the creation process for Uroboros by a lot, having everything neatly organized, easily searchable, and much more readable with the amount of coding I'm working with.
... It's a silly thing to be so excited about, but I am just so happy about all this! It's truly a pleasure to actually see the text in color, compared to the cold, dark text my eyes have been accustomed to.
A lot of other code is in the works to be fixed, but other than some extremely significant QoL changes for myself, I will focus on the writing for now!
I'm happy to announce that I've successfully completed NaNoWriMo for my side project, which I'm super happy about. It really helped improved my confidence as a writer in proving that I am capable of staying consistent and productive, in spite of my less than typical neurology battling against me!
It has inspired me to set a goal of writing to contribute towards a goal. Maybe 10-25k would be a good start monthly instead of the hectic 50k, but I think it'll be a great relaxed pace for writing the IF!
On a very side note, it's also my birthday! 🎂
December will be extremely hectic as my work gets intense for the holiday season, and I will also be traveling continents to visit family. I hope to squeeze in some time to write, though. Again, maybe I'll set a goal so that I'll feel compelled to write even when I'm busy! But hopefully when work dies down, I can get some peace and go back to pulling all-nighters purely for entertainment.
Thank you so much for being incredibly patient about the development of Uroboros. I'm so excited to get back into it, and I'm glad I took a break because I'm massively inspired and ecstatic to return to it!!

First of all, thank you so much for everyone's continued support of Uroboros. I just realized the IF's anniversary has already come and passed without my knowledge, which just shows how much time passes me by. 🥺
Without setting any goals for 2023, I've been more aimless with the IF, as everything I initially set out to do has been accomplished (releasing the demo, primarily). I want to set some tangible goals for 2024 this time, and NaNoWriMo has given me the confidence to believe I can accomplish them!!

Become more active on Tumblr!! Want to write more asks!!

The last bullet point has actually been discussed with an artist already... Work starts in January, hopefully! :DD Expect more RO art for all of them!!!
I will also be looking into sharing a public workspace so anyone can check my writing progress at any time and see that I am updating my word count regularly! I might even add some non-spoilery milestones for people to check on as well 💖💖
Overall, I am SO EXCITED for 2024!! Knowing that I've written these goals publicly and will be taking steps to keep myself accountable, I have no doubt I will meet at least my writing goals and hopefully collect other goals as huge bonuses 💕💕

I have updated the word count tracker to reflect my completion of my writing goal for February!
I had only a thousand words left to write by the 29th; however, I had a medical scare that had me at the ER rather than on Twine at 4 AM (side note: I am perfectly okay)! If it's okay to cheat, I wrote today for of February's goal to finally finish. ♥️
I am happy I was able to meet it despite my late start, and the unnaturally short length of the month! Alas, I still felt lost, and I was unhappy with the writing quality. I stuck through it because it's much better to write hot garbage than not write at all. 🗑️🔥
I think this energy I will continue into March, but who knows? Perhaps a great inspiration will strike!
On another note, no news on the new art for Uroboros yet. 🥲 The lining stage is quite lengthy, apparently!

Oh my goodness! Being able to write 2024 is such a weird feeling!
It has been a very long time since I was able to write an update post, but like I said, new year, new me!
After taking a week off from writing to rest and recuperate from a 15 hour jetlag, I've jumped back to writing!
I have created a public site where people can track my writing! How much I wrote that day, mood, etc. are all recorded there!
Admittedly, I'm not a very consistent person. I will still try to be consistent, but if there are days that I don't write -- don't worry! I sometimes work in bursts of energy, and as long as I give myself a time constraint, I will most likely meet it, or at least will give it my best try. 💕
I hope this keeps me accountable, and also lets people check in whenever they like!
I have also just paid an artist to create some amazing RO portraits -- still waiting on the sketch!! I'll be sharing them with you guys when I receive them!!!

I haven't written much the past week as I'm getting back into work, and I've also become terribly ill over the past few days. However, I happily hallucinate the next scenes I'm going to write! I still got to squeeze in some writing, and that's really better than nothing!
Truthfully, I'm tired—as if I've been wrought dry like a towel, only to remain heavy with moisture. I feel drained, yet I'm unable to stop feeling so much.
That's of course not to say that I'm at all tired of the IF. Though I'm in an eternal war against my physical and mental health, writing the IF and thinking of it invigorates me. It is truly a wonderful activity that, though I often find difficult to have the energy to do, makes me extremely happy.
I wish I could share even just a work-in-progress of it, but I know many people would rather have it feel complete than invest their time in something half-baked. I also feel it wouldn't accurately reflect what it will be, as I've yet to add looking interactions, skill text variation, and so many more features. I suppose it will have to wait!
Here's an Alessi snippet though, can you tell I'm kind of obsessed with them?
