Ultralight materials - What’s a burden they carry that they wish was lighter?

The responsibility of being human pathfinder weighs heavily on her. There are many aspects of it that she enjoys and knows that she is well-suited to, but it’s a big job, and she wants to do the right thing - both for her own species and for other species that are influenced by her decisions. It can feel like an overwhelming burden at times.  

Thermal scope - How does the character go about reading people? Do they take people’s words and actions at face value, or do they tend to dig for other motives?

Ursula is more book-smart and than street-smart - so while she realizes that people’s motivations may be complex and partially hidden, she tends to take people at face value, at least at first. She asks a lot of questions, but this usually comes from curiosity and a desire to be well-informed, rather than from suspicion about people’s motives.

Omnigel - What strategies do they prefer to use when trying to solve problems?

If possible, she does her homework by gathering information from multiple sources and getting the perspectives of multiple people. She tends to be analytical and focuses on the big picture and the long term, even if it means putting her immediate emotions aside.

Omniblade - How temperamental are they? Do they show their anger or keep it hidden? What’s the fastest way to provoke them?

She’s usually pretty level-headed, and when she experiences anger she tries to keep it to herself, or at least take some time to cool off before she makes any big decisions. The fastest way to provoke her is by being dishonest and taking advantage of people.

1. What drew your character to their LI and vice versa?

Layla x Thane: answered here.

Ursula x Vetra: Ursula was drawn to Vetra’s cleverness, resourcefulness, and generosity (the moment she began to love Vetra was when Kallo forgot dinner and Vetra quietly saved the day.) Vetra was drawn, in equal parts, to Ursula’s adventurousness and reliability.

Hannah x Jonathan: Jonathan was immediately impressed by and drawn to Hannah’s skills as a leader and strategist. Hannah was drawn to Jonathan because he was a careful listener who gave her his undivided attention even when others didn’t.

3. When they are having a fight, what is it about and how do they deal with it? 

Layla x Thane: Their disagreements, at least in the early days, came from the fact that neither of them had had much practice at being in relationships, and neither expected to have a partner again. It took some time for each of them - two aloof, self-contained people - to adjust to another person being part of their life. Also, Layla is not always forthright about her emotions, which sometimes left Thane quite confused.

Ursula x Vetra: They don’t fight much; most conflicts get talked out before an argument starts. When they do disagree, it’s sometimes about Ursula working too hard, or Vetra being a bit overprotective. 

Hannah x Jonathan: They’re most likely to argue about their different goals in life, and their different concepts of duty. They deal with it by giving each other space, and ultimately they both know that they’re not going to change each other’s minds about certain things, and that’s ok.
