I already answered 8 and 9!
12. What’s your Ryder’s favorite location in Andromeda?
For Asha it’s Aya and Havarl. Because she loves the greenness of both, and also because Jaal.
For Zoya it is definitely Meridian. I think there has to be a Very Good Reason for her not to just wander around and learn everything about it. She’d take Suvi with her too (as I’m sure she would appreciate it).
2, 9, Ryder of your choice!
Both? Both is good. I just answered 9!
2. How does your Ryder feel about their sibling?
This is a hard question for me? I’m really not sure how to envision twins, especially with the lack of in-game interaction.
However, I do know a few things;
Zoya is, in a way she dislikes, like Alec. I’m thinking her ‘Scott’ (Misha? probably) is a bit more like Ellen. Anyhow, Zoya won’t share much of her emotional inner world, except, sometimes, with her brother because he always knew when something was bothering her and also what made her happy. He is probably the only person who she doesn’t mind him asking her how she feels and she tries to be there for him too. She is really not good at it though. He always kept in contact with her, despite travelling a lot, and while she won’t say it out loud, she really appreciates it.
Asha loves her brother and the feeling is mutual. They did a lot of things together as young kids, so much that their parents and school decided to see if they could guide them into being more separate individuals. They helped them in figuring out their own hobbies for a start. They didn’t mind not being together, but would also keep in contact over the extranet at the very least.
/I think Asha misses him terribly tbh.
Both Ladies: 8. What is the one Pathfinder task that your Ryder hates? 9. What does your Ryder enjoy about being a Pathfinder?
Let’s try this again (I forgot to ‘save as draft’ the first try >.< )
8. What is the one Pathfinder task that your Ryder hates?
Asha: Talking with officials. It’s not that they are all bad, it’s just not a thing she ever wanted to do. She likes helping out people, not so much organisations, if that makes sense. It’s not a level she’s comfortable with.
Zoya: Really dislikes all the fighting and fixing the disorganised mess. While she never had the ambition to lead anything larger than a science team, she can’t stop thinking that she would have done a better job at organising this Initiative on a whole.
/she is good at organising and preparing for the worst, so perhaps there is some truth in that thinking ;)
9. What does your Ryder enjoy about being a Pathfinder?
For both: all the discoveries!
Zoya doesn’t like the fighting part, but she is decent at it after some initial struggles. There are so many new things to discover though! And all the Remnant tech and its history makes her want to just stay on Meridian and, y’know, do research.
Asha actually likes the travelling and doesn’t mind the fighting as much. Stepping foot on bright new planets is a thrill she loves. Discovering a new sentient species even more. I don’t think she ever realised that back in the Milky Way.
2, 3, and 30 for Asha
Thank you for the questions and for making the question list!! :)
2. Feelings on being the Pathfinder?
She starts out as ‘why me??’, being nervous about her abilities and unhappy with her father’s choice. Both Liam and Cora help to feel a bit better about (despite Cora’s disappointment, but she doesn’t blame that on Asha).
The Heleus Cluster turns out to be a very literal Cluster fuck, that’s not something anyone truly counted on. All the Remnant stuff intrigues her a lot though, so that makes up for a bit. Eventually she figures she is capable of doing this job and is determined to do it well. A lot of lives depend on it, after all.
3. Your Pathfinder’s feelings on SAM?
Very, very mixed. Asha has never been happy with Alec’s AI research, partly due to the fact that it made her career back in the Milky Way rather impossible. While she is glad it made her mom’s life better when she was still around, she is very unhappy with how deep the link goes. They work it out, eventually, though. It’s not SAM’s fault!
At some points she decides that since SAM has all the access they have, they should use her experience as much as possible (as long as SAM doesn’t share her private stuff with others, that is).
30. Ryder Family Secrets: Did Ryder unlock all of their father’s memories and encrypted logs? I’ll leave this open-ended to encourage wordy responses, but how does Ryder feel about what they learned?
This is a typical case of “DAD NO!!” all the way through the memories… and yes, she unlocked them all.
Asha is unhappy Alec overruled so many other people’s decisions for his own view, including Ellen’s. It doesn’t help that Alec chose to save her over himself, either (almost killing her with his SAM instructions? that would have been rather ironic). She struggles a lot with it all.
At some point she wasn’t sure whether she’d like to be in the Milky Way under fire or in Andromeda, but she is here so she will make the best of it.
And she will also grumpily admit that she is glad that Alec put all the secrets he had in there (or at least she hopes it’s all of them) so at least now she knows what happened and hopefully can learn more about this Benefactor and how they relate to other things happening on the Nexus and Arks. Garson is already murdered, she doesn’t want to be next.
4, 5, 10 for both your Ryders?
4. When your comatose sibling asked about the current situation in Andromeda, did Ryder lie or tell the truth about Alec Ryder and Habitat 7? Why?
Asha: did not lie about Alec, but did ‘lie’ about Habitat 7. The way she sees it, they will have to work on creating a liveable planet either way, and [Scott] (sorry, I don’t have a definite name for my Scotts yet >.<) would love the adventure. The first Outpost and Vault is up at this point, so there is reason to believe they’ll make it :)
Zoya: tells the truth on both accounts. It’s rather impossible for her not too, even while she notices he doesn’t react well on it. It makes her sad, but she knows she would like the truth, so she hopes he will deal with it eventually too. She has no doubt it is hard when you can’t do a thing. They have a lot of catching up to do when he is finally up and walking!
5. Romantic entanglements, if any, and hopes for a future with your partner?
Asha: is in a romance with Jaal and she would very much like to be together for a very long time. After the numerous talks with Gil she kind of wonders if it wouldn’t be fairer to find someone to ‘make babies with’, but it is not a thing she wishes for for herself. I think they end up being foster and/or adoptive parents at some point :) (The good thing is that Angara have several moms, so she’ll have people to talk with about the how’s? And there are enough kids of several species who don’t have parents any longer, so I think that could work).
Zoya: she is still screaming that this isn’t a dating sim! I’m really unsure about if and if so, who she will date? If, it will be most likely either Suvi or Vetra. Zoya understands and admires dedicated people like them. Whether she will make that extra step? I honestly don’t know yet. Her perfect future involves lots of study, research and stargazing, as far as she is concerned :) (also far less shooting). I think that part will be possible at least!
10. Kadara: Did Ryder side with Sloane Kelley, or the Charlatan? Why?
Well, Asha arrived at the port, had a very bad meeting with Sloane right away and kind of wanted to kill her at that point. So, when the chance was there, she decided not to interfere, even when she did want to kick some clue into Reyes. In her eyes, he couldn’t be worse than Sloane had been.
Zoya though? She would love to just roll her eyes, turn around and let them figure it out for themselves. That’s not really an option, but she kills neither. This means Sloane stays, I think. Neither of them are good options as far as she is concerned. She’ll work with whoever she has to.
14, 17,23, 26?
Did 17 already!
14. Elaaden: After discovering the source of Annea’s water, did Ryder allow her to continue her operation, or expose the source?
Nope, Asha did not allow her to continue her operation, as she did not trust Annae to sell everyone water. She understands the why behind it, but still disapproves of the action.
23. Does Ryder agree with Suvi’s spiritual perspective on the universe?
No, but she is very willing to discuss both science and spiritual sides of everything they find and know (in a respectful way). She’d definitely join the sessions Suvi planned and pinned on the crew board :) Asha can see where Suvi comes from, with seeing patterns everywhere, and she is rather intrigued by the way Suvi ‘does’ (for a lack of better word) her faith.
/I think Asha is agnostic rather than an atheist, btw
26. After rescuing the Moshae from the facility on Voeld, she begs you to destroy the facility, regardless of the captives still inside. Jaal pleads with you to try and save them. What was Ryder’s choice? Did the Cardinal survive your encounter?
Jaal pleads earlier for saving the Angara present, and Asha promises him that at that point. So while she wants to destroy the facility, she will not break her promise. The Cardinal most definitely does not survive the encounter.
/I’m personally still not sure why SAM couldn’t overload that shield when they fly out, but *shrug*
