The lack of critical thinking and good reporting from news stations is enraging. Just caught a local news segment that claimed the spike of covid cases was because of protests but zero mention that also in the past few weeks (longer than the protests have been occurring) the country has re-opened and almost zero businesses require customers to wear masks. The fact that more businesses are open and their lack of enforced protections didn’t even get a passing mention. I’m not saying protests aren't contributing to a rise of cases but they aren't the sole reason and it's irresponsible to claim otherwise especially when other factors were already heavily contributing to a rise of cases before the first protest even took place.
My god, I knew when every business I encountered except one required masks for customers we were gonna see a lot more cases. Not to mention people were returning to work and resuming their normal lives with zero to minimal protection from their employers. Jesus Christ. Just use some fucking critical thinking for once. No wonder our country is such a mess.
Don’t even get me started on not once seeing a mention of police brutality against protestors and bystanders even though I actually caught the news the past few days.
Yeah, Trump and Trump supporters are a problem but so are news stations that won’t accurately report news. You shouldn’t need to seek out news to get an accurate report. You shouldn’t need an internet connection and basic tech awareness in order to find accurate news reports of current events. It’s piss pour and one more embarrassment of this shit show of a country.
