so i had a picture prompt for an english essay and i thought i’d share it with everyone! enjoy!

And please remember that I wrote this in maybe...like fifteen minutes? My grammar and story structure could be better, but this assignment’s due at 00:00 my time tonight! ENJOY! 

Title: A Man and His Dog

When they sent him into space, they weren’t expecting Aleksander Larsson to be home for a good year but when Apollo 48 ended up crashing into the Atlantic Ocean after six-and-a-half-months near Bergen...it was over. Now, you see, Aleksander Larsson’s mission with his crew of seven was sent to inspect the AISSat-1 since several of the malfunctions had to be manually be reset by hand and the satellite couldn’t just fix itself like in the science fiction movies. Well, the crew of seven thought they could fix it with what they were given and with their expertise, what could go wrong? 

A chunk of rock, that is. A chunk of rock went wrong and hit their shuttle, sending it off-course by a few degrees while Jens, one of three pilots, was trying to get into position for another malfunction fix. The next few days...were hell. 

Now, Aleksander Larsson didn’t mind the fact that he was being sent home a few months earlier than usual, but he’s an engineer and he was raised to always finish the job or task he was given. In this case, he decided, his safety and his health were more important. And, hey, at least he’s getting to see his wife, thirteen-month-old daughter, and dog for the first time in months, right? Right.

When the Apollo 48 crew finally got rescued by a nearby Norwegian Naval ship and got back to the Bergen NASA base safely, what they weren’t expecting was the control center and their families waiting for them. And a bunch of sloppy kisses from Aleksander’s dog.

Can someone please explain why Americans have to go to college before they end up in Law School/Med School/University? Is this not just a waste of time and money?

Shouldn't you be equipped to go into higher education when you finish high school, as opposed to having to go through a massively expensive and pointless intermediate stage? Someone explain!
