My sister asked me the other day, "why does the LGBT community have so many flags?" And I recently thought of a way to answer that.

It is kind of like asking "why does each US state have a flag?" Well each state has a unique flag that represents them and their uniqueness. Sure the country as a whole has a flag that symbolizes them as a whole and represents them to the rest of the world, but each state is still unique.

This is the same reason we as a community have different flags, we are all unique but we are all United under one flag.
