On August 23, 1939, Berlin (actually the West) and Moscow surprise the world by announcing a treaty of non-aggression (at expense of Poland and Baltic States. P.S. It is unfortunate that today, after 86 years, in the West, both American and European politics, there are "useful idiots" who are ready to repeat the mistakes of politicians of the 1930s and push to conclude a "peace deal with the Kremlin by donating Ukrainian territory to Moscow"!
