Federal technology staffers resign rather than help Musk and DOGE

WASHINGTON (AP) — More than 20 civil service employees resigned Tuesday from billionaire Trump adviser Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, saying they were refusing to use their technical expertise to “dismantle critical public services.”

“We swore to serve the American people and uphold our oath to the Constitution across presidential administrations,” the 21 staffers wrote in a joint resignation letter, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press. “However, it has become clear that we can no longer honor those commitments.”

The employees also warned that many of those enlisted by Musk to help him slash the size of the federal government under President Donald Trump’s administration were political ideologues who did not have the necessary skills or experience for the task ahead of them.

The mass resignation of engineers, data scientists, designers and product managers is a temporary setback for Musk and the Republican president’s tech-driven purge of the federal workforce. It comes amid a flurry of court challenges that have sought to stall, stop or unwind their efforts to fire or coerce thousands of government workers out of jobs.

What Exactly Is DOGE?

See,if OBAMA didn't form the United States Digital Services back in 2014 no one would be getting FIRED and going through all kinds of anxiety right now.

You really don't believe Trump and Musk came up with this one by themselves?

Why didn't Obama use it to trim the fat and shrink down the Federal Government back then?

This is like the final boss in a video game,you make it all the way to the final chapter but you got to get past DOGE to complete the game.

Trump Administration says Elon Musk is not part of the administration,he's just a "consultant'.

So,why would you have to send back an email stating what you did at work last week to the "consultant"?

I got laid MCI back in Summer of 1994,they were moving the company to Denver, Colorado and North Carolina and not renewing the lease at Pentagon City (VA).

We had to turn in a 500 word essay of your job title,job description,how long you had been with MCI and why YOUR position should not be eliminated.

All of us were like, seriously?

They got to be kidding.

I'm not sure how many folks turned it in but it seemed like more employees took the severance package (and signed up for unemployment).

I took the severance package (four years),took the month off,collected unemployment and got hired for a new position with the Federal Government when they opened up the Holocaust Museum in Washington,D.C. in October.

Some re-located to North Carolina and Denver Colorado.

A handful of the ones who went to Denver only managed to stay employed for TWO YEARS before they were laid off,enough time to get the company up,running and train the new people.

But,hey.... NY Governor Hutchul claims she loves federal employees and has work for y'all,the same promise she had for all those illegal immigrants two years ago.

Even the employees who work(ed) under the USDS turns in their resignations,they can no longer justify going along with firing everyone with no explanations,no warnings except if you don't email back a response they will consider NO CONTACT as a sign of your resignation.

WRONG!
