I have to admit, the 'babes' in my username references the OM boys. You know, they're babes, and I'm not sure that quite portrays the way it should.

But hey, my followers are also babes, most of which who play OM, so technically double meaning!

On my username

I am sure someone will look at my username, pause, then look again. They will ask themselves how “stopping” is spelled and realize it is most certainly not spelled like THAT. Then they will ask themselves if the user made a spelling mistake.

I made no mistake.

For those of you that are adept in the field of mining (which will undoubtedly be very few), you will be quick to note that “stoping” is actually a word.

Stoping is defined as “the process of extracting the desired ore or other mineral from an underground mine, leaving behind an open space known as a stope,” according to Wikipedia. Maybe someday I will justify Wikipedia as a reliable source, but today is not that day.

I believe that stoping idiots should not only be an accepted act but also a widely celebrated one. Think about it. Extract those that cannot aid the development of humanity in any useful way and allow the elite to rise from the ashes. Take these metaphorical “ores” and store them away in suspended animation chambers until they can be used in experiments later.

On a much more metaphorical note (though you should seriously consider the above scenario) I have made it my temporary life goal to educate or polish those “gems” that probably aren’t very brilliant at the moment. Of course, I consider myself one of these ores as well, so please, feel free to educate me.

Oh, and I was not actually born in 1994. That was simply the first date that came into my mind.

I feel the need to explain my username, I want to.

I chose "cast shadow" as a way to reconnect with artist language that I've been losing. I thought it sounded a little bit edgy as well.

A cast shadow that hangs on you wherever you go. A cast shadow, which could be you, or another person. The influence of another person that hangs on you, even when you don't see it, and it casts behind your figure. A darkness unseen by you, but seen by others.

That would be, kind of my interpretation of a cast shadow.

I hope you liked it.

(I noticed just now, it could connect with Carl Jung's archetype "The Shadow", which I barely know the concept of, and still I've spent days reading about it in my favorite libraries. Even so the concept might cast on me behind my back on the things I write, without noticing. Wink).

There's a few reasons for the specific username. My first is that I needed it to be easy to pick a name out of. Snake is easy to pick as something to refer to me as, which is a big plus.

But the main inspiration was part of the first major writing project I took on. I've never posted a word of it, but I still have every thing I wrote for it. Maybe I could post some of it sometime to show how much I've grown :D

Anyways the character that inspired it was a young woman who had her soul merged with a dragon-like four winged snake. The snake was named Onyx, which is also the name of my pfp snake (credit to wonderouscircus-official)
