I'm so confused when I see posts glorifying Lydia's character development. Because honestly besides Lydia saying she doesn't want to be with the bad guys she's very undeveloped. Her sense of superiority and elitist nature is so disgusting I hate watching scenes involving her now. When Scott is in AP and her first words to him aren't of encouragement or happiness (words I think would be typical of a supposed friend seeing another friend succeed) but condescending, "Do you know what AP stands for?" She says this to someone who before he even considered Lydia a friend, saved her life countless times. She says this to Scott, who cared for her when she didn't in return. Who believed her when others doubted her. And this is in 5a. And it can be argued she treats those she doesn't know even worse. The first time she meets Kira (someone she doesn't even know and therefore should have no reason to be an ass to) and says, "And what do they call you?" Like she's some kind of alien creature who dares speak to her. This is season 3b. So when you say Lydia has come so far, I don't understand. All I see is someone who treats people with human decency when she deems them worthy. Someone who treats her friends like shit, even in the later seasons. Someone who is just another white elitist snob with a god complex.
