#art #morrowind #acrylic gouache #watercolor #tes morrowind #dagoth ur #ash ghoul #when i struggle to draw anything dagoth ur appears on the page as though summoned and he makes it all better. :)#there is something uniquely comforting about i have delivered you from the hands of your enemies #he does not quite hit the mark on the other dreams insofar as being welcoming and unforeboding but in this one for me he did #if dagoth ur were taking notes for the next try.#theres also the difference in treatment of dead #i.e. cremation and eventual communal ash dumping (care for the spirit and release from physical presence and ties and limitations and so on #vs the care for the body and repurposing. with corprus none will be forced to suffer death but in this singular case of care for a dead bod #in this one dream as an example. theres a reverence and care for the flesh present here that is alien to its context #theres also the use of the body as it lives with the consumption of corprusmeat which sloughs off the shambling undying #which is a whole other -not unrelated- thing #anyways this is all unimportant. i just like to see this dream as an extension of the temple belief that nerevars corpse #became an ashwalker after death. its a bit of temple belief i love a lot and ill take this as mr. urs corroboration of that story #if you cannot comfort the spirit then you are left with comforting the body. in a cynical reading this is self-serving to ones own grief #a comfort for the living to care for the deceased for a final time. but with a belief that the dead derive something positive from the act #it is a final act of service and love. given in the only avenue left available.#also also. why fully divorce the ideas of spirit and body. could a person not be the sum total of these two things? one or the other #not fully encompassing the entirety of their being? you loved the person. who they were was also their body. you love the body as well #to care for the body is to care for the person. even if the body is empty because the body is a part of them.#this is the context that i look at that dream from and see it as love and care.#but also yeah i get its also a clear reference to the promise of eternal corpruslife. more than one thing can be true at once.

#my characters #if you ask her why she makes her eyes lighter as a guy she says its OBVIOUSLY more attractive for a guy to have piercing eyes #if you find out the witch is a half elf and inquire as to the round ears #hes like what the hell is wrong with you ! of course! i want! rounded ears! theyre so cute rounded #and goes on a rant about how when hes a girl if he wanted long ears to look more elven the hair is a pain to deal with #and as a guy his ear tips would get too cold if they were longer #and then points out that half elves are usually discriminated against for being impure and as lazy and indecisive as she is #the last thing she wants is to be considered filthy #like she just wants to be cute is that a crime #and he wants to look handsome and did you know the light gray shirt is softer and the black shirt more slimming #if you ask about the tongue variations - well yeah sure you can go with the basic boring pink tongue he was born with but come on #dont you ever wish you had some spice in your life #and purple suits her eyes better while blue suits his personality more #also theres a dragon who employs some witches and Mr Dragon keeps the witches safe and sound and protected if need be #by being scary and daunting so the witches just get to do whatever they want without being disturbed by others #the witches (gender neutral btw) all refer to themselves as the magic hoard #and they thrive as his hoard and also they enjoy the royal hoard for entertainment #which is a buuuuunch of kidnapped princesses (and one prince later on)#but when Mr Dragon wants to speak to the above witch he asks about The Specialist #since his goal is to gain a humanoid form to be able to go to towns and stuff instead of using the witches for errands for the royals #anyway the point is the gender fluid bean above has very strong preferences for how men and women look and are somehow mlm/wlw solidarity #but is the same person #the other witches dont really interact with her as much but the princesses are frequently chatted with #and so if the witches havent seen her lately they assume shes off with the princesses #and so Mr Dragon sometimes has to ask for a princess to be fetched so he may inquire and the princess is super polite about #unfortunately she is whining about how hard it is to be cute sir! she will probably not be available for today c:#and the dragon is like ah yes okay i shall return at another date thank you (and its the witch on her period whining up a storm)#(because why cant she be cute whenever she wants its not fair she should not have to be a boy just to be presentable)#(being a girl is sooooo unfair)#and all the princesses are like there there we got you
