Naomi Osaka takes less than an hour to brush aside Lesia Tsurenko with a 6-1 6-1 win. The 20-year-old is the only the second Japanese woman to reach the semifinal in a grand slam tournament since Kimiko Date Krum in 1996.

Novak Djokovic wins for the third time the US Open, beating in the final Del Potro 6-3 7-6 6-4

With this victory Djokovic reaches Pete Sampras with 14 major wins, both in third place in the all-time standings behind Federer (20) and Nadal (17).

The first set remains tie until 3-3, then Novak takes over and wins 6-3.

.The second is more balanced, the Serb goes ahead of a break but Del potro recovers on 3-3, then it remains in parity until the tiebreak, where wins again Djokovic.

In the third set Djokovic reaches perfection, he recovers impossible balls, shows an impenetrable defense, sends back every ball, plays inhuman recovers, finds unexpected angles and plays winners in situations where another hardly could only try to send the ball beyond. 

Juan Martin is tired, you see, but decides not to give up, and sweat to djokovic every single point, without giving him anything. At the fourth game of the set there is the break of the Serbian, he goes ahead for 3-1, but Del Potro immediately recovers the break, 3-2. The Serbian, however, conquers again a break advantage to the eighth game (5-3) and then close the game to the next game, Djokovic requires 6-3 third, in about 3 hours and 15 minutes.

At the end of game happy tears for Djokovic, and sad tears for Del Potro, Novak try also to confort the argentine. Then the prize ceremony closes this us open edition
