#throwbackthursday has me thinking about carved platters. I have not made them in a very long time, primarily because glazes on a flat surface behave very differently than on a vertical surface like a cup or mug. 20 years ago, platters like this were my main thing, but after spending a couple of years developing my crystalline glazes, I changed my work entirely. I miss carving these designs. I wonder how they would look on a tea bowl?
