Meditation on the first Aett of the Anglo-Saxon Futhork
A sketch I made some time ago, based on several 'outside meditations'.
This is looslely based on a personal interpretation of the old Germanic ritual of 'Utiseta' or 'sitting out'. We know from old Norse sources that practitioners of magic would sometimes go outside at night to cover themselfves and sit on the land, possibly on or near a grave, to receive knowledge from the spirits of the land and/or the ancestors (which may be one and the same in this practice).
It's interesting to see how modern witches and heathens who do magic, practice utiseat or a version of it. if someone has any knowledge or experience they'd like to share with me, don't hesitate to PM!
U T I S E T A
On this video I shall explore the performance of Sitja Úti / Útiseta ("sitting out") in Scandinavian sorcery. From Old Norse sources to medieval and modern ones, and drawing parallels with other performances such as seidr, utesittning, väcka döda, trolldom etc. I do hope you enjoy this video!

Life is happening too much lately. It feels like whenever I hope to calm down a bit, a new stressful and/or dramatic thing happens and my brain just can't cope with much more.
So I have not been doing my "indoor sitting"-sessions for a while. (Turned out a while back that the way I find it easiest to relax/nap/meditate is to sit or lie down with a blanket covering me. A bit like utiseta.... I'm doing it indoors and not on a sacred place. So I call it my indoor sitting 😁).
I did an indoor sitting yesterday and I was amazed at how easy it still is for me to reach the right feeling or vibe or whatever you'll call it. (My hands tingles the right way). But I found it a bit difficult to stay "tuned in" so it felt a bit rollercoaster-like. I was pleased, though, that I was still able to reach the right vibe.
I don't know the right vocabulary regarding meditation and that stuff. I hope it still makes sense, though.
Sometimes I'm thinking if I should try an utiseta on my grandparents' grave. Just to test it out? But am not sure if the workers at the church/graveyard would be OK with it.
I think I may take up doing tarot readings again. Perhaps with a deck I haven't used in years. I have this tarot deck that I have prefered to use for about 20 years. But lately I've thought about using this other deck I have that I remember as being much more intuitive to me. Let's see what happens.
I feel so exhausted by life happening all the fucking time lately. I have almost no energy left for anything. So I know that even if I want to get back to my faith more again, I need to take it slow. Slooooooooooow......
