Out of sheer curiosity I watched the Amazon Prime version of Utopia.
The original Utopia is one of my favourite TV series, probably even my favourite one! Everything about it is perfect from the cinematography to the soundtrack. Series two is just as good as series one and it really gets inside your head and really makes you judge your own morals and what is right and wrong.
The villains are excellent. Arby goes from terrifying to one of the most heartbreaking character in TV. Lee is also terrifying but it also funny. Even the characters who are meant to be good are different shades of grey. Overall it is brilliant and perfect and I can’t recommend it enough.
The remake... no. It’s really not good and just makes me want to rewatch the original.
I think it is time that as a society we stop thinking British versions are better just because they are British
