Pet's KnY OC Timeline/Ref Sheet
Hello all, this is gonna be long. When I get into something I tend to drop canon and play around in the world's background so none of these have much to do with actual canon characters. I won't go into detailed story specifics to save a little space.
Part 1: Sengoku era (ages listed as of 1600)

Nanbu Kisuke (南部 喜介) - 1548-[???] - 52

Took in Genba, Raisho, and Ujizane over the years as apprentices when their families were killed. Taught them swordsmanship and how to kill demons, basic first aid, etc. Refuses to acknowledge them as sons but fulfills the role of adoptive father nonetheless.
Fiercely anti-samurai; disgraced former member of the Nanbu clan. Ronin in an age where that was almost as dangerous as demon hunting. “No gods, no masters, just me and this sword I found” type of guy.
Disappeared under mysterious circumstances in 1593. Later reappeared as a demon, leading his students to swear an oath to kill him.
Toumomi Raisho (友美 来章) - 1569-1600 - 31

Hair: silver, Eyes: gold, Scars: parallel dimple scars, Height: 5'11 (180 cm)
Orphaned twice. His family were unlucky silk producers; his facial scars are from a skirmish they fled when he was a toddler. As a boy, his parents were killed in a bandit raid, and he was taken in by his sister and her husband. In his early adolescence, his sister's family was killed by a demon, and he was taken in by Kisuke.
Killed in 1600 by Utsubyou.
Clever and mischievous, artistic and charismatic. Finds great amusement in getting reactions out of people. He likes things that flow, monsoons, and colors. He also likes experimenting with clothing, but that tends to be a luxury he doesn't have access to.
Myo-o Ujizane (明王 氏真) - 1571-[???] - 29

Hair: black, Eyes: black/red, Scars: shoulder, back, legs, Demon crest: facial spiral, Height: 6' (183 cm)
Only son of a family of bamboo cutters. He was attacked by a demon on his way home from marking out a grove and barely escaped with his life, however, when he got home, the demon had already slaughtered his family, and been killed by Kisuke. Kisuke took him to his home for Raisho and Genba to treat his injuries, and then returned to bury Uji's family. Yue, his closest friend, arrived at the graves and presumed him dead; they didn't reunite until their early 20s.
A devout Buddhist. He and Raisho & Genba chose their own surnames at age 15 with Kisuke's guidance.
Became a demon in 1600 in the same clash that killed Raisho & Genba.
Beautiful, serene, but awkward. Unskilled at interpersonal relationships; prone to long silences. Deeply thoughtful and loyal to his chosen people. He favors greens and grays.
Hijikata Genba (土方 玄蕃) - 1573-1600 - 27

Hair: chestnut, Eyes: chestnut, Scars: 2 thin scars across the face ear-to-ear, 1 vertical scar left of the mouth on the chin, 1 diagonal scar on the forehead from mid right eyebrow to temple, Tattoo: white crane, chrysanthemums, fog, setting sun, Height: 5'9 (175 cm)
Lived with Kisuke the longest; he found him on the outskirts of a battle scavenging what was left behind. He doesn't remember ever having a family; he was likely sold by his parents to settle a debt.
Killed in 1600 by Utsubyo
Picked up a taste for sake young, but it hasn't interfered with his swordsmanship. Messy and unmannered, but fiercely loyal and surprisingly kind. Has a very attuned perception when it comes to nature and patterns, but is blunt to the point of rudeness. Shaggy and rough around the edges.
Makino Yue (牧野 由依) - 1573-1612 - 27

Hair: light brown, Eyes: dark brown, Scars/etc: none
Ujizane's closest childhood friend. If things had gone differently, she would have been his wife. She loved him desperately, and was heartbroken when she believed him dead, but recovered in time and married someone else. Her and her husband have issues with conceiving.
When she reunites with Uji when they're older, she's already married. She befriends the trio, and helps them with their own apprentice.
Sweet and frank, fiercely practical, and prone to oddball ideas. In desperate need of an heir, she approaches Raisho (and the other 2) behind her husband's back, hoping to quietly find a solution for their difficulties. It works, but if she hadn't gotten extremely lucky in her choice of husband, it could have gone very, very badly.
When the trio die, she and her husband take in Mikinosuke as a member of the household.
Dies in childbirth with her 3rd (Mego)

Mizuharu Mikinosuke (瑞治 幹之輔) - 1585-1653 - 15

Hair: black, Eyes: oversaturated blue, Motif: Koi, Height: 5' 10 (178 cm)
An orphan of war that Raisho took in. Trained in swordsmanship by the trio, until their deaths in 1600, when he moved in with Yue's family.
He encountered Demon!Uji in his early thirties, and spared him out of grief and guilt. An anonymous letter he received later gave him the location of Raisho & Genba's graves.
Took a wife arranged for him by Yue's husband; Koike Omiko. Though their relationship starts out stiff, they warm up to each other easily, and have a quiet but loving marriage.
Utsubyou (鬱病) - [???]-1600 (???)

Hair: indigo, Eyes: midnight blue, Demon crest: wings, facial spots
Plague demon. Preferred MO is finding a small village and hiding in the outskirts, poisoning the water and picking off the unwanted until everyone is too ill or incapacitated to stop him, and then feasting. Sleepy and morose, lazy, but territorial.
Kills Genba and Raisho in 1600 when they trespassed into his village. Raisho's final blow was just barely fatal, causing Utsubyou to bleed out faster than he could regenerate. When this blood contaminated Ujizane's wounds, he became a demon.
