I just saw the weirdest post.
Is it REALLY so weird to think that some people on tumblr who are like 15 or 16 would say an actor in his mid to late 30s is old enough to be their dad? Cause thatās just normal. Someone was likeĀ āHOW YOUNG ARE YOU, FOLLOWERS?!ā cause they said a 36 year old dude was old enough to be their dad.
I KNOW that I apparently live in a place where people get married young, but come on. Everybody has to know someone who had a kid at 20, wtf?
Iām 24. Of all my friends and classmates in high school, Iād say 9/10ths of them are either married, have kids, or are married with kids. Apparently this is unusual to people, but thatās just true. My parents were 24 when I was born but they got married at 18. They just didnāt have kids for 6 years. And it isnāt even a matter of teen-moms or something like that, I have a friend that got married at 18 and had a baby a year and a half later. I have a friend who got married at 18 and still has no children and has no plans on having any, but the point stands, she got married at 18.
MOST of the ones who are not parents got married around 20-23 even if they didnāt have kids or have no kids yet. In fact, apart from 2 girls I know that had babies in high school (who are both married), the one girl I know that has a kid and isnāt married had a baby at like 22.
The point is, where Iām from, most people get married here in their early to mid 20s, if not straight out of high school (or if youāre my mother, IN high school, she and my dad got married February of her senior year, theyāve been married 30 years this year, lol). The idea a dude 20 years older than you is old enough to be your father is NOT that strange, dude.
