September is OVER ALREADY?
Dear Porcellino,
I'm 4 weeks into school and I am behind in everything. I'm failing 9 classes but I'm only in 6. Please send help. It's co-op season here in the Loo and we are STRESSED. No one is following the soft deadlines for PD1 so we're just going to cram everything when the hard deadlines come around (NEXT WEEK).
Update: its now "next week" and PD1 is all due TONIGHT. Also I am no longer taking 6 courses, I dropped history, best decision ever. I'll deal with degree requirements later. I just did a midterm and I have another one tomorrow at 8:30am. You already know I’m back on my Red Bull addiction. SO GOOD.
FYI, I totally was mid-way through a "first week of school" post but then got slapped in the face with so much work that I had to put that on hold, but I'll continue it so you can see a contract in how I feel now vs when I first got here.
xoxo,
Sara Ahmed
Super incredibly stoked to be starting my PhD in a couple weeks! Loving the fall colour influx also. So excited, I can't even. #gradlife #backtoschool #phd #uwaterloo #swag #yellow #bookstore #books (at University of Waterloo)
i never really made an appreciation post for graduation but if i did,
i’d like to thank subways for feeding me first year, mozy’s and burrito boyz for second and third year, and walmart for teaching me how cheap it is to just bake chicken breasts and boil broccoli during fourth year; 7eleven for those late night energy-drink runs and mcdonald’s for them post-alcoholic ragings. thanks to the friends who’ve kept me sane all throughout college and the parents who subsequently brought me back to insanity; the profs who pretended to care and the profs who really did give a shit. thank you grt 200 express route for getting me to class on time and the 7D for carrying my lazy ass around school campus; wikipedia, stackoverflow, wolfram alpha, and patrickJMT for all my how-to-code/math needs; and most importantly i’d like to thank tim hortons for keeping me company in the library and starbucks for keeping me awake. bless these 5 years.
