Day 3 at Ubud Writers & Readers Festival
Attended a panel on the Qandeel Baloch case in the morning, followed that up with a conversation about drugs as vice and how they should be treated, and then listened to Reza Aslan talk for an hour about the history of God.
Then mingled, had lunch with Andi Fischer, bought the books I didn't have money to buy on the first day, and just as I was about to go home bumped into old friends.
Returned in the evening for the film programme to watch Edwin's excellent Aruna & Lidahnya, an adaptation of the novel by Laksmi Pamuntjak of the same name. She was there to answer questions before the screening and is a ridiculously amazing woman: gorgeous, stylish, fluent in multiple languages, successful in her career. The movie is about two boys and two girls eating and hanging out. Like us today. So happy to see my favourite Indonesian friends Ananti Pratiwi and Melisa Setyawan.
